PlayMonster 5 Second Relay Card Game

Family had a blast during Thanksgiving 2024! Very fun game, makes you think and challenging when you get down to 2 people. The questions can be a little tricky but that is what makes even more fun.

I have a large age range of children and they were all able to play, as long as we chose the right category. And there are so, so many categories to chose from. We enjoyed the fast paced rounds and how the baton magically knew when it was passed to a new player. I greatly appreciated the hard case the game came it.

Kids would recommend this game to a friend for a gift or to play. I would also recommend this game when you have family get-togethers or parties. This is a great game to interact and have fun. I love all the different topic cards so you really never run out of ideas. The baton is light weight and easy to hold and pass. This game has us giggling and thinking at the same time. Super fun for all ages. A great test for reflexes and thinking.

I received this product in exchange for an honest review. My family enjoyed playing this game on family game night. It was easy to learn and easy to setup and put away. It also stores very nicely so you can even take it with you on a vacation or a road trip. We like to throw it in my purse to take to dinner to pass the time after we order. The controller is a little touchy so it takes some time to get used to how to reset before you pass but once we got used to it we played nonstop. The game says it is for 8 plus but my 7 year old had fun with it too, you may just have to edit some of the tougher topics. I think the game makes a nice birthday or holiday gift or even a host gift if you are going to a holiday party at a friend's home.

We have played many versions of 5 Second Rule and this one is the best.Its easy to set up and put away. Its portable so you can take it with you to play anywhere.Fun for all ages. great for a large crowd to play .

I can’t wait to take this on our next vacation. It’s so compact so we’ll bring it to our next cousins trip. There is so many relay options that you will never get bored. I admit I was great at the snacks competition relay and so was my 9 year old. I think that was our longest word streak. My husband was best at Star Wars characters. A great gift for any family and the coolest packaging. I like that there are pass cards if you aren’t great with a certain really too.

Horrible packaging. Difficult to open case. Impossible to put everything back once opened. Baton is either overly sensitive or unresponsive. Waste of money.

Baton worked great once you figure out how to pass it to the next player. My only problem was with the card prompts. Some of the questions were harder for kids and younger generations or were just kind of pointless, too open ended, or too broad. Also, how do you determine correct answers or prevent folk from grabbing answers out of the air. For example, name all James Bond Movies, clothing you shouldn’t wear as you get older, Cate Blanchett Movies, things that cause anxiety, ways to injure yourself…we are a board game family and play a ton of games. I would honestly pass on this one. Kids were over it after about 10 minutes of play.

I put in a new set of batteries after opening this game but the baton wouldn’t turn on. Super disappointed.

I played this with my boys (Caden and Sawyer). The rules were really easy to learn and understand(Sawyer is 7, and he caught on really quickly. Caden is 9 and also caught on fast). The diversity of the questions was vast, and a lot of fun to figure out. I liked how the baton senses when it's passed off, and the noises are nit loud or obnoxious. We all agreed this would be a great party game with more people. Though it was just as challenging with the three of us. It's tougher than you think to figure out an answer when you know you only have 5 seconds to do it. You tend to get hypnotized by the baton lights if you're not careful, and then lose that round because you spaced out. Great game!

5 Second Rule Relay is a lot of fun and good twist on the original game, which our family already loves. I thought at first it was going to be way too easy to come up with one answer in five seconds, when the other version is three answers in five seconds, but the more the baton goes around, the harder and harder it gets to come up with a good answer. It can get pretty funny when people panic answer, like when my stepmother answered thunder for something that makes you laugh. I've played several times with a wide range of ages, from 15 to 70, and it's fun for all. Some categories, like Ryan Renolds films, are a bit more difficult, but what's nice is you get pass cards (depending on how many people play). Then you can sit out the round and enjoy others panic to answer. I've found new players are slow to use their pass cards and run out of life cards first, but the more we play the more we remember to use them. I really like that this game can be played by just a few or several people, and most ages, making it quite versatile. The one downside is that the baton doesn't reset from time to tome how it should, even when passed correctly even if it has fresh batteries, which can disrupt the flow. We just roll with it and start the timer over. One interesting rule is you don't have to pass the baton in a circle. You can basically pass it to anyone in reach. So, if someone still has multiple life and pass cards, you can opt in to pass to them rather than someone who might only have one life. The downside is if multiple people pick on one person to get them out right away it could end in hurt feelings. We didn't have any issues with bad sportsmanship, so it's been fun the several times we've played 5 Second Rule Relay. I received this product free in exchange for an honest review.

I received this game in exchange for my review. This has turned into a family favorite for sure. I played with my 8 year old and it was so funny the things we could (or couldn't) come up with. The instructions and set up were super easy. There were some cards she didn't know (like Canadian Cities) but I would say a majority of the ones were common or easy enough for us to go back and forth a few times. The baton makes it so fun. Sometimes if the handoff didn't trigger the baton to restart, so we just hit the button again. Such a fun game for all ages!

Fun game. My kids liked the the electronic baton with the lights and sounds. They had fun passing it back and forth. They did have a little trouble at times passing it and the time ran out. They were able to come up with great words for the categories. Love the packing and container to store it in.

We got this for our 11 year old and 12 year, old, boy and girl, and ourselves as a new game for our game nights. They had this set up and ready to go the instructions read all within 30 minutes and were playing it. Now yes.. the girl child cheated often, she liked to try to throw out random things and insist that we accept it. But we had a blast playing this the 1st night and the kids have played it several times alone. I love that it makes you use your brain a bit, coming up with things quickly is just fun and challenging.

The rules were easy to understand. Packaging was nice and presentable. Game components are high quality and sturdy. Best part is that this game is amazingly interesting and fun! My daughter and I didn’t want to stop playing because we were having so much fun! We plan on taking this game on our trip this weekend.

This is a great family game. It is easy to play and is great to take on the go for vacations and road trips. It is a lot of fun and had everyone laughing. We chose not to use the Pass cards and since we were playing with kids (from 9-12), we just changed the card if it was a topic not familiar to someone. We only played with 3 people, but this is a great game for small or large group. Overall, lots of fun. We will get a lot of use from this game!

This game is so much fun! It's for ages 8+ and my daughter and I have a blast playing it. You have 5 seconds to come up with an answer or you loose. We both have been stumped a few times, haha. I love that it's an easy game to learn and play. When the kiddos want to play, we're all set. I don't need to keep the instructions on hand. Some new games its a necessity until you play them enough, but this game... you read the instructions once and you are all set! Now you can focus on playing and having fun! We love it!

5 Second Rule Relay is quite fun. It’s easy to learn and the instructions are precise. The baton is really awesome and well thought out. It’s easy to learn how to use it. There are so many cards for different categories that it makes it even more fun with so many options. I also think that the carrying case is fantastic and it holds everything, the cards and the baton- you could even fit the instructions in there too. The components of this game seem to be of high quality. I also like the packaging. It’s simple and convenient. You can play this game with as little as 2 people or as many as you want. It would make a great party game. I highly recommend this game.

This game is a lot of fun! I love the large variety of questions on the cards! We have so much fun coming up with answers! It is definitely a lot more fun than I expected!
