Extremely comfortable for only 8 inches
We just bought a used camper...and one of the biggest squicky issues we needed to address was the old mattresses we pulled out. It was a difficult decision in mattresses, but I chose this one based on weight, density, size, and brand. The trouble with a camper is not overloading the weight because even the difference in 50 or a 100 lbs can make a big difference in towing when all the little pounds add up. This wasn't a very heavy mattress at all for the density and size and I was actually very pleased with the comfort in general. The quality of the mattress was ridiculously comfortable to lay on, even with it just laying on a lovely slab of plywood. There wasn't a strong odor at all, even when we first opened it up. Eight inches is more than I expected to feel so nice to lay on. For having a touchy back and hips, I haven't had any painful or stiff mornings from camping and that is actually pretty surprising to me so, more than 5 for how much I enjoyed this compared to just thinking I would find the mattress tolerable.
