The cooking directions are designed to assure food safety and to deliver the highest quality. We have developed deep fryer directions for other Gorton’s fish and shrimp products but if you do deep fry the fish sandwich be sure to fully cook the fish to an internal temperature of 165˚F or higher before serving.

Only received 7/8 patties
I only received 7:8 patties from the package as I opened it up on June 6th, 2025 and was sadly suprised to see that they only packaged 7 out of the 8 that are supposed to be in the frozen package. No way of contacting the company so I am left with an only response with posting a review of my disappointment.

We use a highly automated scale to pack our products so that each package contains the weight listed on the label. Due to natural variations in each piece of fish, it’s possible to sometimes get more or less fillets than what is listed on the package. Thick, gooey breading & too little fish
Haven't purchased Gorton's for years (normally prepare my own), but tried these "Fish Sandwich" fillets that my friend just bought and was about to throw out because she didn't like the thick breading. I thought if I removed the breading, they'd be OK, but it leaves a gooey coating on the fillet anyway. Not appetizing at all. They are truly awful! The crows liked the breading, though.

Haven't had them in awhile so decided to buy I remember they were great. Got them home opened the bag and they are now the smallest fillets I've ever seen. You need 2 to fit them on a piece of bread. They didn't use to be this small I can't believe you would charge double the cost for half the size they use to be. That's RIDICULOUS as a company and I hope people stop buying your products. What a RIP OFF 🤬🤬🤬

Where’s the Fish?!?!?!
This is a great example of I’m shrinkflation, there’s more bread than there’s fish. The fish fillets, because that’s what Gorton’s calls them are about 10 mm thick without the breading, and the patty for lack of a better term is close to 1/2 inch thick. There’s is barely any flavor to the sandwich unlike let’s say a McDonald’s or Burger King fish sandwich? Then if you’re eating it on a roll you can enjoy the bread because that’s what you’ll have a mouthful. If you’re going to make a frozen breaded fish sandwich you might want to reconsider buying Gorton’s and just go to a Pub for a proper fish sandwich.

Deceptive packaging!
I like McDonald's fish sandwich, and I bought Gorton's Fish Sandwich fillets in hopes they would be somewhat similar. DO NOT BELIEVE THE PACKAGE IMAGE! The actual fish is much thinner, and is decidedly mushy. Yes, they are clearly cheaper, though not cheap for the poor quality. I am now searching for another brand.

I thought I could replicate a McDonald's fish sandwich for less money. Do not be deceived. These are no where near the same. If you want or need the original bite the bullet and get it.

Looks are deceiving
What you see in the package photos is not what you are going to get. This is a White Castle size sandwich "serving" suitable only for a little child, which is ok if that is your goal. My 8 and 10 yo grandkids would want 2-3 fillets each; an adult would want 3-4 fillets per sandwich. They do taste good and they are real fish with no additives often found in cheaper products. But I didn't translate grams to ounces (who usually does?) for serving size (shame on me?) and the photos make the fillet look normal serving size.

Horton fish sandwich
I bought this a month or so back. I tried it once after I got it. And again tonight. What are these reviews talking about? This is one of the most awful things ever to go in my mouth. There are pieces of fish inside the breading, yes. But it’s surrounded by a translucent goo all throughout. Yes I’m cooking it correctly, it’s a no brainer. Also the fish sticks. Exactly that. Tons of breading, very little fish. Neither product even comes close to the picture or what it touts to be. In the past I’ve enjoyed Gordon’s and now I’m just annoyed that now I’m at an age where it would be useful to have it just isn’t edible. Whatever they’re bringing to the boardroom for the bosses to taste approval isn’t making it to the stores freezer. Or they just don’t care anymore. Just…no. Yuck

Love my Fish Sandwich
I enjoy having these for my lunch. So convenient I just pop in microwave for 3 minutes add cheese slices to melt on top the last 30 seconds of cooking. I use hamburger roll or tortilla flat with lettuce & pickles. Always have in freezer they taste great!!
