Not for early readers

In no way is this gimmicky book an "early reader level 1." Some words are not even real words in the English language and the spelling on some of the "pink words" is questionable. An early reader should feature a limited number of familiar words that are easy for a new reader to sound out using basic phonics. While a cute story, this book would be frustrating for an early reader.

First Reader

This book is described as a first reader and I bought it for my granddaughter. I looked it over, it has a lot of the same words for similar identification. It is very colorful and she loves cats, that is why I bought it. Time will tell if it helps with reading!
