Garmin Approach R10 Portable Golf Launch Monitor

Set up the R10 and linked it to Awesome Golf and Garmin golf. Both work great, but AG give a little more shot detail.

I’ve had for a month now, been taking it with me to a local range. Using my iPad for practices and playing rounds of golf on it at the range . Getting a home net set up soon. Using it more and more very soon.

Pretty user friendly. I’m very happy that I can use it with my larger Apple iPad, it makes it much easier to see while practicing on range days.

Interesting and helpful. I have it tied into my iPad and it works great. However, the battery life is nowhere near 10 hours as advertised. The most I've gone out of it is barely 5 hours.

Amazing device, quick to setup, seems accurate. Allows me to practice without going anywhere.

Still figuring out. Loving it so far. Need more time with the projector

The device is very portable and easy to set up immediately start working with iPhone. However, getting videos was a little difficult to set up. Also had trouble with alignment on the open range. The compactness of the device was a very pleasant surprise.

Bang for the buck. Ya sometimes it misses but overall it's great for training n for games for my son.

Once again Garmin produces another great product. Works great, small compact size stores in bag easily, and the battery life is great. I would recommend to anyone looking for a monitor that provides accurate data in a small package.

I bought the Garmen a while ago and like it for the practical training elements it can develop. Right now I’m using it to develop better distance control using the same club, varying the length and speed of the swing to hit to different carry distances. I also am using it for clubhead speed training.

Like the design. But the data is so erratic I took it back after 2 days

I bought this about 2 weeks ago and have used it everyday. It is very accurate inside and outside. If you are looking for a quality low priced launch monitor this is the one.

I've only used the R10 about 3 times now. Super easy to set up, download the app and get it running. The reported results compared to the actual ball flight is different. It works most of the time, but the ball flight isn't recorded accurately. My preferred shot is a push-draw so the ball ends up straight ahead. The R10 doesn't record the draw part and shows the ball flight as a push-fade. This often happens when the ball is near the sides of the narrow field of "view". I use this mainly on the range and not into a net so I can compare where the ball actually goes. I have to readjust the direction of the R10 when I shoot for other flags which is understandable. If I can get it to where it is relatively accurate, I'll be happy. Still a work in progress.

I bought this to go with my backyard net. It gives. It gives really good shot tracer.

This little gadget is pretty cool, in a few sessions I was able to diagnose specific problem areas with my swing and with the help of a coach and or even ChatGPT I was able to develop an action plan to improve and fix certain issues. Highly recommended for the Golf nerd who is keen on game improvement.

When you can get it to work its OK. Constantly losing connection or won't work at all. Constantly having to reset it. Wish I would have bought the Rapsodo MLM 2 pro. Disappointed in Garmin.

The unit I received was so sensitive on ball placement and leveling that unless it was all perfect the speed and distance data was wildly off course. When you hit balls on grass you necessarily place each ball in a different position due to divots. Unless you adjust the Garmin for each shot you will get wildly inconsistent shot data. Note I am not referencing any spin data here because I know that is modeled rather than measured by the unit. I am talking only about the basics of club and ball speed. Some of the shots I hit with wedges were off by 30 yards or more. The unit might work fine in a controlled, indoor setting but it is essentially worthless for outdoor use.

I have owned a stationary simulator in the past but the R10 offers more shot information for game improvement. And it fits in my golf bag always ready to provide valuable feedback wherever I am.

I like this launch monitor mainly for the price. As far as the accuracy, seems pretty good. The only complaint that I have is every time I start up for the first few minutes it keeps going in and out of connectivity. Other than that myself, and my boys are enjoying it.

Incredibly accurate and captures videos. Combine the two and it can lead the great improvements.
