Guests are saying
The new packaging for the 312 hearing aid batteries has received significant criticism for being extremely difficult to open, especially for seniors and those with limited hand strength. Many guests have expressed frustration over the need for scissors or specialized tools to access the batteries, which detracts from the convenience of using them. Despite the batteries themselves being reliable and long-lasting, the packaging redesign has led to a negative experience for many users, prompting them to consider alternative brands.

Child proof shouldn't also be adult proof. Excellent batteries.

Rayovac 312 12pack- 2 packs of 6-absolutely horrible to open, you literally need tin snips to open the package. Child resistant packaging- should read Senior Resistant. whoever approved it should really rethink their mistake

The child proof packaging is horrible! It requires scissors which I DO NOT carry around with me. I have to cut them open at home which leaves the batteries loose & MORE of a hazard for children. This was a STUPID & MORE dangerous idea.

who was the rocket scientist that developed the "childproof" packaging ? almost sliced my fingers off trying to open. you need aviation snips to cut through the plastic, and then beg the batteries to fall out.

This type isn’t available anymore and we should be given a choice of packing. Two very strong adult sons cannot open the new style that replaced this dispenser. I’m furious.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I understand the need for child proof packaging; however most hearing aid batteries are used by seniors. You need to use scissors to cut open the package. So, if you are out and you have to change batteries, you have to find scissors or a knife to get batteries.
Darn packaging

I curse you every week when I have to replace my batteries. The plastic is so tough. When I manage to cut through to the center of the pack, it's like the plastic welds itself and I can't get the battery out. I'm so afraid of snipping of the tip of my finger. I'm surprised there have not been sued for for this dumb advancement. would I recommend to a friend? It's the packaging not the batteries.
I appeciate the great price, but not the packaging

I am & have been a regular purchaser of 312 hearing aid batteries for several years. The new child resistant packaging is unacceptable. Even with scissors it is almost impossible to open to get a battery out. My scissors can barely cut through all the heavy plastic. I would need commercial scissors to cur through it. I will be forced to return to buying Eveready batteries if you continue to use this terrible packaging. I'm a healthy 92 year old female who admittedly has lost some of the strength in my hands, but I am able to accomplish all other tasks required in my household. Please revert to the other more accessible packaging you used before. I can't imagine any child being able to get into them. Keep batteries of all kinds & sizes out of reach of children should be the rule. Tank you for reading my complaints.

This is the worst packaging ever!! I have been using these batteries for years. Based on this new packaging I will find a different brand! when it takes 5 to 10 minutes to open the packaging its a problem. The team that developed and sold this packaging should be fired

I had to find a very sharp scissors and cut hard then pry the packaging open. This is a 5 minute task. So, I spend the time to remove all the batteries and put them in an old package so I could get to them when needed. I have batteries in my cars and in backpacks so that I can replace batteries when they go dead at inconvenient times like driving. Now I have to carry special tools and pull over where before I could hand the hearing aid to my wife and point to the batteries. She would change them ...no problem. Now there is a big problem. The batteries last about 3 days so I have to replace batteries often. With 2 hearing aid, I am replacing one about every 1.5 days.... frustrating.

The package is ridiculous!!! Takes 5 minutes to get one out even with scissors. It doesn't cut easily, then you end up prying it with the scissors which is dangerous. Why is this even a thing now? Just keep your children away from things they shouldn't have. My son hit his head on a coffee table, should we ban those?
Packaging Nightmare

The new packaging is very disappointing, a true nightmare to access the batteries! I have been wearing hearing aids for thirty years and have always relied on the Rayovac for the best reliability in a battery. Recently, I made a purchase and was shocked to experience how incredibly difficult it was to open the package. I cut myself on the plastic! Also, how inconvenient for travel. I always carry spares with me and now I need to open all of the batteries in advance of use and risk the plastic tab falling off in my bag. I understand that child safety is the issue here, but I am sixty-six years of age and struggle with this packaging. I can only imagine what older people with arthritic hands are experiencing. Please, re-think this design for a better solution to safety. I appreciate your attention to this matter.

The packaging is hard for elderly people to open. Why did you do this? The batteries fly out of the package when I cut into the package, following directions.

I've always used Ray O Vac batteries in my hearing aids, but with this new packaging, I am seriously considering changing brands. It is impossible to get in to. I have neuropathy in my fingers and have to struggle to get a battery out of the packaging. Using scissors makes it all the more likely I could stab myself forcing the package open. I see this says that this is a review for the 16 battery pack. The dispenser that was used for the 8-pack was great. Unfortunately when I went to buy my new supply only the 6-packs were available with the Child Resistant Packaging. If the 8-packs are still available with the old packaging, I would buy them, but never again can I buy the 6-pack in the new packaging.

I just purchased a 24 pack of #312 Hearing Aid Batteries. While I really like the batteries, the new packaging they come in is the poorest design I have ever experienced. Whoever designed this packaging should be fired! You need scissors to open the package! How many people carry around a pair of scissors to open their battery packaging? What about people with disabilities? How are they going to get the packaging open? It's not only child proof, it's also adult proof. This is the worst of the worst. Surely you can do better than this.
Batteries are absolutely awful to access!

Efforts to CHILDPROOF is effective, however accessing the batteries is very difficult for users even using sissors! I wind up using a screwdriver to open the package. I carry spare batteries with me at all times however I cannot carry sissors with me especially when going through TSA checkpoints. Design a user-friendly accessable package,

As a long time user of your hearing aid batteries I must inform you it is time we part ways. The majority of people that use this product are seniors and you have literally senior proofed your packaging. Use scissors...I get it. Even with scissors, it's still a burden that I don't have to endure with other batteries that perform just as good as yours, at the same price point.
