black surface shows smudges easily, unstable

black surface shows stains easily, like smudges from eating. scratches really easily. and when you put your elbows on it when eating, the table legs shift under you. i constantly have to reposition the table.

Great table, except for staples underneath

this is a very nice dining table, good instructions, easy to assemble, clean lines, BUT mfgr used heavy-duty staples to staple shipping straps to underside of table. removing staples left gouges in the underside of table, and small pieces of metal that could not be removed. covered metal pieces with black tape so they would not snag clothes of those sitting at table
