A: Hi - we suppose it could, but the downrod is in a fixed position, so the light will extend out at an angle and not hang down straight.

This fixture is impossible to install, the screws going in the ceiling mount are impossible to fit in, you have to guess and fiddle. I have never seen such a bad design. Return it is.
