Q: when it says straight match is there any part that laps over when positioning it side by side - 1/2 inch overlap etc?

A: This is a great question. No, the pattern doesn't overlap. We do recommend slightly overlapping the strips when installing to prevent gaps as the material relaxes in the hours immediately following installation. Q: How do I take the "repeat" of the pattern into account? My section is approximately 5x5 ft square. Want to know if 1 roll is enough or if 2 rolls is advisable.

A: Hi Granny! This is a great question! Each roll covers about 30 square feet. You may be able to make do with one roll, but may want to order a second roll to account for miscuts and future repairs when it may be difficult to find a roll in a matching lot.
