Q: Is this waterproof for outdoor use?

They are not waterproof, as they are not gasketed and no additives are used to be classified as waterproof. Q: For the exterior, is it 20.62" deep for the lower half, or for the upper half (where it flares out a bit)? Hoping it will it fit in a cargo carrier which is EXACTLY 20"D in the basket.

Q: Target's listed Specifications... "Dimensions (Overall): 17.25 inches (H) x 20 inches (W)". Is this square in shape? Or, is the measurement for (L) missing? If so, can you provide the length in inches?

I have some shopping bags that I had in my trunk, but did not want to bring in the house just yet, so Rubbermaid came to the rescue. I put all the bags in the plastic tub, and could really put some more items in it. Some of the items are gifts, so the next step is to put a lock on it and then I'm all set. I have it in the garage and now there are no bags in the way to clutter the house, and the tub looks good in the garage. All I have to do is put my stuff in there and close the lid, out of sight out of mind! I also like the fact that if I needed to tote items in the tub in my 4Runner, it is easy to do so as it fits in the back. My husband has a truck, so if he ever needs to tote anything in a closed container he can easily use this. If I could change one thing about it, I would have some casters on it to make it easier for one person to move instead of needing a second person (if the items inside are heavy) or scraping the bottom on the ground. I do think I have many uses for this tub and it will last for many years to come.

Being able to lock it gives us peace of mind that all of our belongs are kept safe. We have left it out in the rain when camping and everything remained dry.

This box was put in the area that gets wet when it rains but we haven’t had to worry about it so far. The box has stayed dry through multiple storms. It’s very convenient to store extra towels and doubles as a nice seating option.

Love that it is protected on the outside so if you have to keep it in a garage or something your stuff stays clean and safe. It works great because I can fit a bucket beside it. Hasn't moved at all. The latch is nice although I would like to see a slightly bigger hole in it to put a bigger combination lock. Moisture hasn't been an issue after rains, although I do not expect it to be completely dry with humidity. It's been a welcome addition to my business and helped me organize the back of my truck better.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This lockable tote fits great in the bed of my truck. My bed cover leaks when it rains so the stuff in back gets wet. This fits perfectly back so to store my stuff and keep it dry. It seems to be pretty durable so hopefully it will last for years. The lid also stays open so haven't had issues with it slamming down as I'm trying to get things out.

Besides being super sturdy and spacious, it has a latch that can be secured with a padlock. Right now, it’s being stored in our lanai and is filled with at least 25 beach towels for when company visits… .and, there’s room for more. The tote can withstand cold temperatures and rain. We did, however, put weatherstripping around the edge of the lid to further weatherproof it against any moisture that might get inside.

I bought this to keep outside to store garden pots, bags of soil and hand tools. It's got plenty of room inside and can be locked. I like the top is grooved so water runs off when it rains. Its not uncomfortable to sit on if needed. I do wish the handles were indented more to get a firm grip when moving it.
