The grey inside plastic bag holder broke after only a month of use. This is the second one that has broke but this one only lasted just over a month. My last one lasted a year, so that’s why I bought another one. Now I will not buy this again. The design is very poor quality I sent an email an still have not hear if I can get warrantee or parts for this garbage can. I have to keep taping it up to use it. Now I’m going to buy another kind of trash can.

I wish I would've read the reviews before buying this piece of doodoo! I bought this to replace a more expensive loser of a trash can with the same problem. Impossible to put the lid on without bruised fingers and foul language.....and it's still not on. I normally love putting stuff together but this piece of dookie is impossible to deal with. The instructions for putting in the liner were impressed in the plastic on the can and were extremely hard to read but I finally got it on but there are NO instructions for attaching the lid. I need a lid that actually works because in summer we're plagued by small flying insects that make life miserable.

Flimsy bag holder

I'm gentle with my trash can, and with about a year and a half of use, the bag holder is broken. When you remove a full bag, the bag will occasionally pop the bag holder arm out of its retainer. The bag holder arm has a slot that mates to a groove (like a mm thick plastic) that's in a hole punched in the plastic. This will eventually wear or break off and the arm ends up flapping around uselessly

Buy this trash can ONLY IF you enjoy getting ticked off and frustrated every time you change the bag. It’s a HORRIBLE design, and the engineer should find a new line of work.

I am getting another one of these step-on trash cans. I really like the grips inside that hold the trash bag. They keep the bag in place very nicely. We had one of these for years till the lid wore out. I would really like to get another white one, but looks like they only make them in black now.

Great appearance. Inner operating guts of the trash can cheap and not operational for very long. Modifications are badly needed to keep the product working like it should. I have bought 2 of these in the past year and both succumbed to the same failures of operation on the inner workings. Highly disappointed in Rubbermaid, for not improving this product

I just bought the Rubbermaid trash can with the foot pedal and I am very dissatisfied with the fact the steel peg that connects the lid to the foot pedal doesn't line up. I didn't receive any instructions on how to assemble it nor could I find information online on how to do this!!

Bought several for a daycare and 4 out of 5 have broken in 2 weeks. On 2 of them the hinge on the lid broke. On 3 of the broken ones, the liner lock also broke.

I like this trash can, good for the price but, one of the liner arm broke after a week of using the trash can! I decided to look what the problem was and compared the broken liner arm with the still good liner arm and ended up braking the one good liner arm also! I found its flimsy thingy that holds the liner arms at the front part of the trash can! Trying to figure out how I save myself some money and not buy a new trash can I discovered using a couple small binder clips for each side arm fits where thingy holds the liner arm in place. I hope it does the job. I really don't want to spend money buying another trash can when the one i have is perfectly still good. This flaw of other wise a good product should be fixed.

I don't consider myself to be an ogre or anything of super human strength just an average ole Joe, and my bag hangars have broke several times. I love the lid and look and the style but jeez, can we fix the bag holder issue. Increase the plastic gauge!

I adopted this trash can from my son when he came home from college. Now he's moving out and we both want one! I love this can because it's easy to install the trash bags, bags tuck in securely without showing on the outside of the can (as most cans do), it's easy to clean (unlike stainless cans).
