A: Hi Aylah! The 30 Gal. Storage Tote is made of Polypropylene plastic, and was designed for general household storage. Most household storage purposes do not require suggested weight limitations. Our products have not been specifically tested for various weight potential, and we suggest consumers not overload them or stack more than three high. This could cause distortion or eventual damage. When storing items away, use good judgment and be mindful of the weight in each tote and place the heaviest tote on the bottom.

For the most part these work very well. I use them to replace corrugated card boxes that I used to use to store items in my flat. The only issue that came up recently is when I stacked multiple smaller heavy plastic storage bins on top of it the top caved in and that caused the stack to topple over. If the top were latchable I don't think it would have caved...
