Q: Can I use this on galvanized steel?

submitted by C Berardi - 5 months ago

  • A: We are happy to clarify! Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch 2X Ultra Cover Spray Paint cannot be applied directly to a galvanized surface. As the alkyd in the paint is incompatible with the zinc in the galvanized surface. We recommend applying a coat of Rust-Oleum Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 Water-Based Primer first, and only one coat is needed. https://www.target.com/p/zinsser-bulls-eye-1-2-3-water-based-primer-white-1-gal-2001/-/A-1002524426 - Rust-Oleum Product Support 10 - Rust-Oleum Product Support 10

submitted by crazyj3180 - 10 months ago

  • A: We're happy to help! A primer is only indicated when applying Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch 2X Ultra Cover Spray Paint to bare wood or metal surfaces. Q: Is this nontoxic for pets?

submitted by Screen Name - 11 months ago

  • A: Happy to help! Our recommendation when applying Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch 2X Ultra Cover Spray Paint is to leave painted items in a well-ventilated area for one week after painting. This allows for the most complete curing as well as maximum coating hardness. As with any coating product, care should be taken to ensure that accidental ingestion does not occur. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 10

Q: Can this be use on hot surfaces like a radiator?

submitted by Jean - 2 years ago

  • A: Happy to help! Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch 2X Ultra Cover Spray Paint can withstand up to 200°F. As long as the radiator doesn’t get hotter than that, it’s suitable for use on the metal surface. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 15
