A: when used correctly, Salton Cinema Popper model CP1428RD will yield an unlimited amount of popped corn. Use 1/3 cup of fresh kernels. Takes less than 4 minutes per batch. Important to let the unit cool-down for at least 10 minutes before starting again.

This is a good air popper. Very satisfied with the product. Some reviews mention the lid being unattached, actually this is good because it's so much easier to clean. It doesn't affect the intention which is to stay in place and protect from very little unpopped kernels that can fly out. the machine works just as it should. I really liked when the kernals were all popped it shut off when it was getting too hot. the one thing I noticed is that the lid slides off too easily. if you bump the machine the whole lid comes off and popcorn gets everywhere. not a fan of that. but all in all i like the popper. I use alot of Salton products and have no complaints. Recommend for sure.

Got this as a gift. - wish I could return it. Used fresh non treated kernels and it blew them all over the kitchen. I had more unpopped kernels than I had popped ones. Would not waste my money on this.

Using fresh, untreated kernels is good. Salton Cinema Popper model CP1428, under normal conditions, should yield over 95% popped kernels. I recommend trying another brand and even though it's a gift, you can always contact our service department for assistance if needed. Email us: service@salton.com

Although not sure where the damage was, it is a common mistake that Salton's Cinema Popper model CP1428RD has a hinged cover. In fact, this product does not include a hinge at the back of the cover. It's removable for easy cleaning.
