Samsung HW Q800D Q Series 5.1.2 ch. Wireless Dolby Atmos Black Soundbar

I bought the sound bar and sub woofer last week and the sound quality blew my mind! I pity my neighbours now especially when I’m playing my EDM or Techno favs hehe

Where do I start, purchase my new townhouse I bought the Q600A soundbar in 2021 which has ARC. The system lack some of the features verse the 700 or 800 series at the time but it was the best value of money and due to my smaller lounge area and it still has phenomal dolby atmos sound. Moving forward into 2025, as March/April there is clearance sale so the next models can be replaced I made the decsion as there is a super sale going on for nearly 45% off the RRP this was priced as much as the 600C so its a no brainer. I installed it comes with the high-end eARC cable vs the hdmi 2.0 so your set to go aslong as your TV has eARC/hdmi 2.1 as a port your ready to already push pass the barriers of quality dolby codecs. Now as a 600 vs 800 excluding year model this one was a total sheer upgrade. Has wifi/dolby atmos in-built vs no wifi. The sound performance from the bar to the sub-woofer is night and day and now after using for a few hours I can hear better, vocal clarity with the additional features included to enhance all levels of sound of lows/mids/highs. 600A was no slouch for me giving it a 7/10 rating - could of been louder but the 800 series A/B/C/D is just a bigger model so the sound stage is now at a 10/10. Another perspective is the 600 even the 700 is a 3.1.2 the 800 is 5.1.2 so you can really enjoy films or music that was set to either 5.1 surround or further enhancing the atmos experience. Anyone that needs a recommendation see no further, the smart things app which is even further enhance due to this series model verse the lesser is a farcry. You can do limitless things via the app seamless. Overall a 10/10 system from pricing, quality build and the overall increment update or uplift from the previous gens really stands out and shows Samsung is no joke and they are in to compete with brands likes Sonos, Bose etc. If you can still grab a bargain before its discontinued I highly recommend as this soundbar will last me for at least 5-6 years before I need to worry about anything. (p.s. DHL for australia was top tier delivery service)

The TV remote can be used to turn volume up and down. No multiple remotes for everything. Sound quality is great. Watching movies is like you’re in a home theatre. Great quality and a modern design.

Excellent quality and super easy to set up. Should have bought a soundbar years ago, has made watching movies far more enjoyable. Soundbar fills the room with quality audio, even when only set at 30%. Very happy!

Love the ease of integrating it to the Samsung tv, it virtually installs itself and did I mention the great sound! This is my first soundbar having come from a conventional 5.1 setup but wanted to save space and improve aesthetics. This unit takes care of everything - sound quality is booming with the dedicated Subwoofer. Supporting Dolby Atmos and the immersive Q-Symphony experience (pairs with your compatible TV speakers) I cannot fault the sound quality or volume capabilities of this great soundbar so far! TV auto detected and configured bests settings for the soundbar and it was so easy that I was almost confused and didn't believe it!

Combining with Samsung TV's speakers creates Q-Symphony, where the richness of the sound fills the room, especially with videos encoded with Dolby Atmos! This soundbar supports wireless Dolby Atmos, eliminating the need to connect an HDMI cable to the TV. One power wire into the centre speaker makes the device placement clean and simple. Love the Adaptive sound mode, giving the best cinematic and conversational clarity. The up-firing speakers pack the punch delivering sufficient realism for surround sound. In addition to tone control (treble/bass), you can tweak the volume of all speakers in the soundbar (CH LEVEL in the remote), creating the right balance for your ears. I found that for older folks with hearing impairment, enabling Voice Enhance and tweaking the Front Top and Centre speakers (CH LEVEL in the remote) can drastically enhance their listening pleasure, and if done correctly, can reduce interference to the surroundings. For me, this is a cash-and-carry item, and self-installation is a snap with one power to the soundbar, and another power to the subwoofer. For the rest simply follow the installation guide, and if you have a Samsung TV (like I do), follow the instructions on the TV. All in all, if you have the budget, skip the S-series soundbar, your ears will thank you.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this on sale. So far it works great for dolby atmos content. Feels like in the cinema. For non atmos content sound quality is better than that from TV but feels a bit surpressed at times. Sitting position also makes a difference.

Great design remote as well. Connects to my smartphone to play music and pairs to tv and can use the tv remote to control.
