About the Author
Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt's first play, Don Juan on Trial, opened in 1991 and was performed at the RSC i n 1996. The Visitor opened in 1993, and has since been performed world-wide. Enigma Variations opene d in 1997, starring Alain Delon. Schmitt's other works include six further plays, two novels, adapta tions of plays and operas, and a translation of The Merchant of Venice.
