A: Just a few minutes. I've never timed it but if I plug it in and then get my things ready to laminate, it's usually heated up by the time I'm done.

Have used this unit for a few years, and it has worked perfectly.... until now. Needed to do some laminating, unit does not want to turn on. I see several other comments for the same problem. I always store this in the original box with all the packing materials. It is unacceptable that this no longer works.

So disappointed in this laminator. It is so difficult to load the laminating sheet. I will replace as soon as I am able. Dis anyone actually try to use this machine before it was put on the market. The flimsy loading shelf keeps falling and it does not line up with where the sheet needs to enter.

Does Laminate but defective tray

Very disappointed in this laminator. I have always loved scotch laminators as they have always worked really well. With me being a teacher, I get quite a bit of use out of it but this one does not work for me. The tray will not stay up and just falls down which makes it to where I have to hold the paper as it goes in most of the way. I’m not sure if a piece was broken off but it will not stay up and it makes it difficult to multi task as I’m having to hold it to use. I really need to get another one but my teacher salary doesn’t agree with me on that. The one I had before this was great but it got recalled so I went and bought this one. It was a downgrade for sure.

Input Tray Broken, Laminator Worthless Now

For the first few months the laminator worked really good, then the input try broke one day when I was closing the tray for storage. Now the laminator is worthless to me because the laminating sheets cannot be loaded correctly due to the broken input tray. I am a Kindergarten teacher and before the laminator broke it was priceless now that it is broken I need to buy a new one, but because I am school teacher I do not have the budget to buy another one. So just a heads up the input tray may break.

Affordable laminator that is easy to use. Compact, convenient ready light lets you know when it is heated up. Two settings - 3 & 5 mil buttons for the correct heat setting. Feed tray drops down too easily which can cause shifting of the items being laminated. It would be helpful if the feed tray was longer, but given how the product is designed to be compact & portable, that isn't possible. The pouches appear cloudy, but are crystal clear after lamination.

Fairly new and the feed try won't stay up, plus it jams a lot. It just now got an entire laminating sheet stuck in there and I can't get it out. We had this bought with our school budget, so we probably won't be able to get another one :(

I laminated 3 things then while I was printing the next sets it went in to the flashing green ready and will not work anymore. I used it last year no problems very disappointing as now I have to spend more money.

Broken Tray

The actual laminating part works well and I haven’t had any issues with the sheets. However, the tray has broken after a few weeks. There are tiny little knobs that snap into place and hold the tray up, but they’re small plastic pieces, and both are broken. So, I have to hold the tray up and try to get my laminating sheets into the machine. I may try gluing the tray, which means I won’t be able to store the machine in the box.

Great little machine. I’ve used it several times now, for several months, and I have no complaints. I store it in its original packaging when not in use. The tray: Just take care and gently lift it up into position. Don’t be a beast about it. The smell: It’s a laminator. It gets HOT and melts plastic together. It’d be weird if it didn’t smell. Feeding the sheets: Insert sealed edge into feeder first. Go slow with steady hands on either side, guiding it until the rollers grab. You have a little wiggle room for good reason I would think. Just follow the directions printed plainly on the tray. Let the machine heat up (about 5 minutes), choose the mm to be used, wait for the ready light to come on, and go! I haven’t had an issue with bubbles. I have laminated 8.5 x 11 sheets and smaller cards together in one sheet to be cut after laminating. Very pleased.
