SheaMoisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Leave In Hair Conditioner is a reparative leave-in conditioner that softens and detangles hair while controlling frizz. Perfect for those who regularly color, straighten, perm or heat style their hair, as well as kinky, curly or wavy natural styles. This conditioner, formulated with Jamaican Black Castor Oil and fair trade Shea Butter, helps to nourish, moisturize and support elasticity to resist breakage when detangling. Conditioners provide a protective layer that improves the appearance of dry split ends. Peppermint stimulates the scalp for an invigorating experience. Apply to clean, towel dried hair. Work a generous amount of product into hair from root to ends. Gently comb through for even distribution. Do not rinse. Apply additional product as needed depending on hair length and condition. This leave in conditioner and cruelty-free conditioner is formulated with no silicones, no sulfates, no parabens, no phthalates, no mineral oil or petrolatum. Good but not great….
It does have some slip and provides some moisture but does not have the same knot melting effect that other conditioners have. It also does not provide as much moisture as other products. It does have a pleasant scent but the packaging needs work because the pump can be hard to work with when your hands are slippery. Overall it gets the job done but I’m not super impressed.

I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but this is the second SheaMoisture product I’ve tried that I really didn’t like. I had high hopes after enjoying one of their other products, but unfortunately, this one didn’t work for me at all. While it might be suited for a different hair type, I feel it’s important to share my experience. The scent is a major issue for me — though many people seem to love it, I couldn’t stand it. My hair is shoulder-length, straight with slightly wavy ends. The conditioner itself applied easily, it wasn’t too thick or too thin, but that sums up my positive experience. However, as a leave-in conditioner, it just didn’t work, it’s a failed concept to me. It was far too heavy for my hair type, leaving it feeling weighed down and greasy. My hair looked dirty and oily and glued almost immediately after applying it. Unfortunately, I won’t be using this product again, and I’ll be discarding it.

So Disappointed
I purchased Shea Moisture products to AVOID harmful ingredients. Well, was I wrong!!! Now the "new formulation" adds polyquaternium-10, polysorbates, amd other toxic ingredients. These ingredients are horrible for your health and safety. They cause me to have severe skin irritations, and systemic allergic reactions. Sad to say, but Shea Moisture has really gone against what I thought they stood for. Don't buy these new formulations if you value your health, wellness, and safety!!!

A must have for dry/frizzy hair
Changed my hair life. I have dry frizzy hair and could not leave the house without styling it after washing. Always had to use heat tools to maintain the frizz. Since using this product, I can go 7-10 days between washes and don’t have to touch my hair with heat or dry shampoo between. It just gets rid of my frizz and lets it air dry perfectly. Don’t need a lot of product either. I have been using this since January 2024, and still have over half a tub left in August 2024 (and I have long thick hair) Would recommend 10/10.
