  • A: Hi Colleen- Shokz here! The OpenRun Mini headphones are not Qi-enabled for wireless charging. They use a proprietary magnetic induction cable (charging cable attaches magnetically to a port). While newer Shokz models like the OpenFit or OpenDots support Qi wireless charging, the OpenRun/OpenRun Mini models rely on wired magnetic charging.     Mostly Great

    The sound is excellent, and not having something in my ear while running is great. The issue I'm having is that Siri does not hear me through these headphones, and also for some reason none of my usual notifications (WhatsApp, Messages, etc) come through while I'm wearing them. So I like them, but these issues keep me from LOVING them.

    Fails right after warranty

    Received my headphones a Christmas gift 2. 5 years ago. Started turning themselves on and off at random 2 months ago. A few weeks ago they failed to turn on and no longer accept a charge. I see no physical damage, and the actual battery life still seemed long enough, so I don't know why they would fail. As my family's attempt to get me out of wired headphones, this has done badly. They also make my teeth buzz.

    I’ve used so many other wireless ear buds. Some in ear some over the ear etc, etc! Shokz open runs have to be the best by far! I can power these up and they’ll almost instantly connect to my phone(others have not had the same success) I never lose connection with them mid run either! Which is a big pet peeve for me! Additionally the sound is great too! I just don’t like the vibration from having them turned up to loud. But I suppose that’s an issue with any bone conducting headphones. Superior product and my runs wouldn’t be the same without them!

    They are comfortable and stay in place while jogging or biking. However, because they don't actually fit inside the ear, they're just not loud enough. If you are sitting at home in your living room, they're fine. But if you're out on the street jogging--much less biking--it's hard to hear what's playing, especially a book or podcast. I also found the vibration against my skin to be uncomfortable, kind of like fingernails on a chalkboard. And then, after about a month, mine just stopped working. Very disappointed. Still looking for a good solution for earphones to use while jogging and biking.

    This is my second pair, as my other pair bit the dust in a severe rainstorm and would never come back on. I absolutely love them! So comfortable, I can hear my surroundings while running, easy to use and pair with phone/watch.

    Part of my everyday routine

    I absolutely love these headphones. I originally bought them for use on runs, so that I would have good awareness and be able to hear ambient sounds for safety. I’m retired, and spend a huge part of my day listening to podcast and audiobooks as I go around household chores and yardwork. I end up having these on my head pretty much from the time I awake until late in the evening. They’re incredibly comfortable. The sound quality is excellent, although not nearly as good as a pair of in the ear headphones. If you’re in a very loud environment, such as traveling on an airplane, they don’t work very well, unless you, paradoxically, use foam earplugs. This is my second pair, as the first pair broke after three years of near constant use, including a lot of travel.

    Amazing. . . for about a year

    Will never go back to in-ear headphones while running after Shokz. Being able to listen to music or podcasts while hearing my surroundings is so important, and these have always been comfortable. That being said, I've gone through so many pairs, and it's always been because of malfunctioning parts. The latest incident had been when I was covered by the two-year warranty, received a replacement pair that then malfunctioned shortly after a year. However, despite it only being 13 months with the replacement pair, it was Shokz used the original purchase date, and not the replacement ship date. I've gone through many pairs and at this point, I will be looking for something more durable to avoid this frustration.

    In-ear style headphones never worked well for me. These are just what I needed. Sound quality is good, they are comfortable, and I can still hear what’s going on around me.

    Only one downside

    I have been using these for a little over a week now, and I have to say that the only real downside for me is that you have to turn it up loud enough that you struggle to hear others when in a loud environment. And, even that's not that bad. Would definitely recommend to everyone.
