The originals are better
The new version fits looser and is inherently softer sounding. The max doesn't compare to the sound crispness and quality of the original version. The usb-c ch a raging is nice and the function to force it to reconnect with one of the onboard buttons is noce

Almost perfect
I love the first generation OpenComm. The latest generation adds a mute option on the microphone, making a great headset better (mostly). Unfortunately it also a verbal "mute on" and "mute off" sound that is very distracting during remote meetings. It would be nice if those verbal prompts could be disabled or the volume of those prompts controlled. That one change would make this the best headset ever for online meetings.

Liked the old version better
Forced to upgrade due to failure of older version. I've enjoyed my Shokz (Open Run and Open Comm) and have encouraged others to try them out. This new version of Open Comm is a downgrade from the older version in my opinion but a new user to the brand may not feel the same way. The switch to usb charging vs the magnetic version 8s an irritating and unnecessary change. The old charging connection was a quick click connect. The new version is tedious; pick Open the cover, plug it in, make sure it's all the way in and reverse when done. The Audrey voice mute on, mute off is irritating and unnecessary for those of us that are in front of a teams meeting screen all day and I've yet to figure out if I can turn it off. Finally, the mute button works well but having it on the mic takes some getting used to. Overall, feels like a bunch of "upgrades" that actually didn't improve the device.

Pros and cons
I’ve been loving my Aftershokz Aeropex for the past few years and they’re great for listening to music for my workouts but I can’t use them for phone calls (the other end can’t understand me). I purchased this new Shokz model for Zoom and phone calls and they are good. Drawbacks: they will BT connect to both computer and phone (both 3 feet away) and the phone BT connection with the phone will disconnect/connect/disconnect multiple times a minute. I finally had to disconnect with the phone so I could concentrate on my Zoom call. The only other issue is the music quality is lower than my Aeropex but it’s still acceptable. Overall, I’m content with my purchase for Zoom calls and talking on the phone.

Perfect for small. odd ears
I. love my Shokz. I am a semi driver and need to be hands free all the time. I have small weird ears and traditional headsetso never fit right and you unless you only use one ear, you cant hear the sounds around you. This is very dangerous for drivers. With my Shokz, I can hear everything I need to and what I enjoy all at the same time. They are comfortable, and sound wonderful. Only wish they would have longer listening time. You need to sell to to the trucking industry.

Great Headset with One Frustrating Quirk
Overall, the Shokz OpenComm is a great headset. It’s super comfortable, lightweight, and was really easy to set up. I use it daily for music, audiobooks, and phone calls, and it performs well in all those areas. The sound quality is decent — not audiophile-level, but clear and consistent enough for everyday use. My only real issue is the volume fluctuation. It randomly gets too loud or too quiet, even during the same listening session. Doesn’t matter if I’m on a call or streaming audio — it just seems to have a mind of its own. If they could fix that volume stability issue, it’d be a perfect 5-star product. Still, I’d recommend it for the comfort and ease of use alone.

Good but could improve
I like the headset. I get good feedback. The Quality of my voice I hear sounds great. The only 2 things I wish could improve are 1. The Battery life. I find myself needing to charge these more often than I’d like. And 2nd , when in the middle of a call. The headset likes to unassign itself multiple times in a call and I’ll wonder where the person on the other side of the call went. Only to find out. My phone switched over to the phone audio. And I have to often , manually switch back to the headset. It can get irritating. Outside of those 2 things. Solid headset. Music sounds good, calls go great when fully functioning

Best headset I’ve tried!
I spend 10 plus hours a day on the phone with near constant talking. This is the perfect headset to protect my ears, stay comfortable all day, and pick up great audio from the mic.

Battery life
The battery does not last nowhere near the 16 hours that you guys claim they do. My battery is only lasting 6 to 7 hours with a talk time of approximately four hours not too happy with that other than that I do like the way they sound. you guys could help me out with the battery problem?

If you hate your company issued headset,
upgrade up to SHOKZ. My only current regret is not doing it sooner. Time will tell their reliability and durability but, for now, happy camper here!

I use these with the
I use these with the dongle for Teams and Zooms calls on my computer, so i cannot comment on using these with a phone. PROS: range is good, good reception throughout my house including up and down stairs, going outside quality deteriorates. The Mic is good, my voice quality is great. I prefer this style of around the ear vs inside of over the ear. Battery life seems long, I forget to turn them off at night easily get 2-3 days on them, maybe more i haven't had the battery die on me. CONS: Despite ordering the USB-A pack, that only applies to the dongle, the charger comes with a USB-C cord. The charging port in the headphones is also USB-C not the magnetic port used by other Shokz. One of the reasons i justified the price was being able to use the same port as the open run pair I use but instead i have added another charging cord. The sound isn't great, on par with the open runs. While the pickup/hang up work good with Teams out of the box, this feature does not work Zoom at least out of the box (maybe something i can change in settings). No auto off feature, except when you plug them in, take a bit to get used to having to turn the off and on. Overall: I chose to keep these for the around the ear feature. What bothers me the most is the added cords for charging, and the USB-A still requiring a USB C port. Sticking with a brand I already use didn't save me any ease in cord management.
