Description
Feed your garden and store compost scraps easily and efficiently with this odor-minimizing stainless steel compost caddy. It attaches to a magnetic dock that hangs at the side of your rectangular or slim liner rim trash can, or you can detach it for use on your kitchen counter. The soft-seal lid allows food scraps to breathe, keeping odor under control and pests away. The plastic inner bucket is removable so it's easy to dump out scraps or clean. A 30-pack of Code Z custom fit compostable liners is included — the liners fit the caddy perfectly and can be thrown out along with your food scraps since they decompose fully.

Q: I saw the answer that the compost caddy fits on every liner model, but that turns out to be false. Now I have purchased the caddy to work with the 46L dual step model and the caddy hook does not fit. Is there a fix? What can I do to use these together?

A: Hi Heather, the compost caddy is specifically designed to work with "liner rim" cans, which have a rim that secures the caddy’s magnetic dock. Unfortunately, the 46L dual step model is not one of the liner rim cans, which is why the compost caddy hook doesn’t fit as expected. If you're looking for a solution, we can suggest checking if a wall mount for the compost caddy would work for you (since it doesn’t rely on the liner rim design). Otherwise, if you'd prefer the caddy to fit directly on your can, you might need to look for a compatible liner rim model.

The compost caddy is designed to work with liner rim cans, and the 46L dual step bin does not have that feature, which is why the caddy attachment doesn’t fit. One option is to use the compost caddy’s wall mount, which doesn’t require the liner rim for attachment. Alternatively, you may want to look for a compatible liner rim can.

A: We recommend the liners for easy clean up, however you can place the composting items directly in the plastic inner bucket.

A great Kitchen Addition
My only complaint would be its size, since for a family our size we can fill it up after a meal if we are using it properly, but having it right next to the kitchen trash makes it a million times easier to use. Highly recommend the z compostable bags as they can also be composted in your backyard compost if you have one!

Good choice
This is a nice size. I bought it in white and it looks nice on the counter. Love that the lid stays up if you want it to. It has a nice seal but unfortunately does not keep the ants out.

Small& Mighty
The size is perfect to collect food scraps to dispose of every 2-3 days. Unless it’s close to full before then. Occasionally I have to toss out a bunch of produce that expired all at once. So happy I bought this…the images of how it’s attached to your step cans could be better, but you will not be disappointed. I have 2 step wastebaskets and this rest on the side of the smaller wastebasket. Great value, so easy, convenient and worry free.

Best purchase this year!
We use compostable bags in our main kitchen rubbish bin, but we have learned that when we put wet food waste in that bin, the bag disintegrates as it is designed to do. So we saved any plastic bags that make their way into our house to put that food waste in. We would keep that bag on the counter with all its ugliness while we added food scraps to fill. Enter Simple Human Compost Caddy! What a change it has made to the kitchen environment and to our ease of food waste management. Well done you guys!

Perfect size
This caddy is the perfect size for my 4qt electric composter. Once this fills up I know it’s time to run the composter. Love that it attaches to trash bin, it keeps it out of the way in a convenient location.
