simplehuman 55L Rectangular Step Trash Can with Liner Pocket

This is my third Simple Human trash can and I absolutely love them. Not only is their functionality unmatched but they last forever! You must get the bags with them. They fit perfectly and are much sturdier than traditional store bought brands.

Love, but doesnt fit under 36inch countertop. high quality, nice, large capacity. wish it was 2 inches shorter to fit under countertop.

Very pleased with the overall quality of this can. Well-made, durable and sturdy stainless steel shell that holds a lot more than my previous scan of the same size. Love that you can fit it with the appropriate sized bag and the bag is easy to slip on and lift out. Foot pedal is soft underfoot and the top lid lifts silently and with minimal effort. Very happy w this purchase.

In these times I am reminded of the Progressive Insurance commercials about 'Parentamorphosis or 'becoming your parents'. Upon receiving this incredibly designed and aesthetically brilliant receptacle, I was shook with excitement. I displayed it proudly in the driveway while peacocking to the neighbors of what was about to be in my kitchen. Heads were turning, nods of sincere approval and high fives were plentiful. Shortly after, my kids arrived home from school and were immediately taken through the tutorial: Shown the brilliance, the design, the functionality and were truly amazed. However, their amazement was at how proud and excited I was over what they see as a 'trash can'. Kids have no appreciation for the finer things. I carefully placed the replacement cartridge in it's place. . . LIKE A GLOVE, it fit so perfectly. I then placed the first Simple Human CodeQ custom liner into the magnificent stainless steel receptacle and my heart sang with how snug the drawstring wrapped around the peak of the can. It was like two old friends hugging. I then placed the Simplehuman Odorsorb Pod into it's rightful place on the inside lid and felt accomplishment. It was complete. The masterpiece was finished. I closed the top lid and just stood and gazed at how the lip of the top of the can wraps around to hide the custom liner at the top. It stands proudly as the focal point in our kitchen. Something that everyone is shown as part of a house tour and will forever live in infamy as the best receptacle on the street! Forever yours, Travis

Best garbage can ever. It’s a little pricey but you can’t find this perfect size anywhere else! I got the black matte and was way too excited when opening it! It’s beautiful! Never loved a can so much!

Our first Simplehuman trash can (same model) broke after 7 years of service. There IS a design flaw on the bottom of the mechanism that lifts the lid. Despite that, we bought another. It is (mostly) well designed and works exactly as one would desire.

Worth every penny. Easy, fast and simple to use over and over again and again. I'm actually enjoying changing the trash bag because it's so much easier than my last trash can.

This was a 'warranty' replacement from years ago. And you guys replaced our unit without questions. I took the requested pictures and included the original serial number and Voila! You folks shipped a brand-new can. Gosh, it's so, so, nice to have a lid that opens when the foot pedal is pressed. My wife took grief for years after paying so much for our original Simple Human can but . . . my apologies to her and my compliments to you. You've exceeded her expectations and mine. Nice Job! J. This is a perfect trash can. I ordered the white one because everything is white in my home so it marches perfectly. The bag opens widely so it’s easier to dispose the trash inside. The step is all across and makes it super easy to use. Definitely recommend and also purchased the shredder attachment best combo ever

I saw this bin at my son’s house and loved the look of it and its functionality. That was two years ago but I have finally bought one after checking out the cheaper options but nothing else comes close and I’m very happy with my purchase. Thanks Simplehuman!

Exactly as described in description of product. I love how the 55L is more spacious than the previous trashcan that I had.

Second one I have owned and cannot fault anything about it, lovely smooth mechanism and quality build!

I love the soft-close lid and the lack of inner liner, which makes it really easy to clean. However, it did come with a small dent on the side, which seems to be a common problem based on the reviews. I personally don’t care that much because they also throw in a free pack of trash bags and an odorsorb pod, but they really need to work on the padding for the sides. I appreciate that they’re trying to be more eco-friendly, but structured cardboard is not enough to protect these trash cans.

This trash can is absolutely stunning from the quality down to the size. Simplehuman trash cans are worth every penny.
