    Fantastic quality - Could not be happier

    I highly recommend this trash can as it is of the upmost quality and is so finely crafted, it is bar none the best trash can I have ever had. The quality is beautiful and gives me the old school vibes of "American Made. " Also, the tech on this is so nice. You can speak to the trash can and it will open, stay open and close to your voice. It is highly accurate. The only downside I would say is that you are forced to purchase their trash bags, because this trash can is pretty big and the regular trash can bags we are used to buying will not fit this model. So you should be prepared that you will be roped into overpaying for the Simple Human trash bags. With all that said, however, I still recommend this purchase. We are very happy.

    New Sensor Can Lid Work Great.

    We had a 3-year old Sensor Can that went bad. Lid would not open or go shut all the way. Disconnecting power only provided short term resolution. Can just stopped opening and shutting correctly. Troubleshooting was a waste of time. Finally gave up and bought new can. I hope new Sensor Can operates well for more than 3 years.

    Love These Cans!

    This is my 3rd motion sensor can I have purchased in the last 13 years. I love the new Matte Black color and quiet upgraded motor. I know it's expensive, but it is something I use at least 20-30 times a day. I would highly recommend this can if you want a luxury polished look in your kitchen and a conversation piece when friends are over. You could buy the step version for less, but how cool is it that you can actually talk to your garbage can and never have to touch it except when you have to take out the trash bag! The only thing I wish it had was legs, so it could walk down my stairs and empty itself!

    Good trash can

    I purchased it in the matte gold to match my kitchen and it is beautiful. I love the motion sensor open, it can be battery operated or plugged in, I haven’t figured out the voice activation yet so can’t comment on that. This is my 4th simplehuman trash can, I like the ease of use.

    5 stars for the physical design—I love that food & trash won’t get stuck at the top, back of the inner lid as trash goes in. The size of the sensor can is just right. 4 stars for the technology—the voice command doesn’t seem to work at all. The sensor can opens up when no one is near it. 4 stars for the price—I wish it was a bit less expensive.

    Warranties matter

    I have always loved simple human items. From my dish rack to my trash can. My hands are always full so when my touchless tag can stopped working I tried every truck in the book to no avail. I contacted simple human and shared what was happening and my warranty allowed me to get a new replacement within just a few days. Thanks for keeping things simple for me!!!!

    Really like the quiet clothes lid, and that it responds to voice command

    I love the garbage can. I had a prior simple human garbage can for over 25 years. Really like this one quite a bit better because you can barely hear the lid open and close. And I love that it responses to voice commands.

    Great can, odor eliminator fell in trash

    Great trash can! Thin profile, and both the motion sensor and voice activation work well. It is easy to clean. The only issue is that the odor eliminator which was included in my purchase fell off into the trash and I inadvertently threw it out! I attached it according to the directions, so I would consider that the one flaw. Otherwise this would be a five star review.

    You are meant to be able to talk to this product and tell it to open, but it never ever works.

    I genuinely thought it would hear you and open when you shout at it, but it never does. It occasionally works for my girlfriend, but never for me. Overpriced for it not actually working.
