Q: What's the trick to getting the soft close feature to work consistently? It slams shut sometimes & slow closes sometimes!

A: I tried that and while I worked one time it goes back to default if not shutting softly once I out the bin back in. Do you have a video?

The little slow close piston on the bottom in the back was leaning at the wrong angle and would slip off of the metal tab on the pole half of the time. It came like this from the store. Instead of returning, I wedged a piece of wood and some felt furniture pads to hold it straight up and down and now it slow closes every time.

Q: I notice when I put my foot on the pedal, there is a clicking noise. I seem to remember it was quiet opening and closing. It seemed to make noise after I took the inner bin out to change the bag.

Bought our first one 12 months ago. It's used (opened/closed) several times per day. Works flawlessly. So we bought another to use for recyclables. We have a small galley condo kitchen and these narrow cans work perfectly. I really wanted to love this trash can. That's ridiculous to say, but it's true. However, it was dented when I got it. And I saw a loooot of complaints about the same problem. I guess it must dent easily, and that's fine, I suppose, but not at this price point. Additionally, if the trash can starts out dented brand new, I'd expect some kind of discount on it.

Good looking, works well, and goes with about any decor
This replaced a plastic step can that had seen its better days, including the step mechanism having broken a couple of years ago. Having one that works is nice, and the other benefit is I no longer have to put something heavy on the top to keep the big dog from trying to open it and get into it. It's a sharp lookinig trash can and easy to wipe off. I'm glad I spent the money to get a stainless steel trash can.

Impossible to clean with so many tiny crevices! The lip of the lid near the hinge is open and traps debris. The hinge itself has many open areas that are hard to clean even after unscrewing it to remove from the can completely. The bottom of the can beneath the liner has deep crevices I can’t fit anything inside to clean. This can does NOT close tight and bugs get inside. It looks nice but terrible to maintain. Don’t waste your money. If something leaks inside you will never get the smell out. I do not recommend and will not be buying again.
