Q: What's the trick to getting the soft close feature to work consistently? It slams shut sometimes & slow closes sometimes!

A: Ours had the same issue. The little slow close piston on the bottom in the back was leaning at the wrong angle and would slip off of the metal tab on the pole half of the time. It came like this from the store. Instead of returning, I wedged a piece of wood and some felt furniture pads to hold it straight up and down and now it slow closes every time.

Q: I notice when I put my foot on the pedal, there is a clicking noise. I seem to remember it was quiet opening and closing. It seemed to make noise after I took the inner bin out to change the bag.

Q: The Lid does NOT close all the way. Is this a product defect? There is a 1/3 inch opening, which will make any trash inside smell up the kitchen. Any suggestions? Is this unit broken?

Impossible to clean with so many tiny crevices! The lip of the lid near the hinge is open and traps debris. The hinge itself has many open areas that are hard to clean even after unscrewing it to remove from the can completely. The bottom of the can beneath the liner has deep crevices I can’t fit anything inside to clean. This can does NOT close tight and bugs get inside. It looks nice but terrible to maintain. Don’t waste your money. If something leaks inside you will never get the smell out. I do not recommend and will not be buying again.

I picked it up from the store, totally dented on one side. Told me to get the other one on the shelf, that one was dented on two sides. Get your act together and have some respect for your clients.

I’ve had this for about 4 years & In theory this can is great because it fits in small spaces. It’s nice to be able to remove the inner liner and clean it out whenever you need. However, I have found that the lid rusts. It’s stainless steel so it shouldn’t. I tend to use a broken piece of cardboard to cover the lid, but I feel like I shouldn’t have to. The outside cleans easily and doesn’t rust so that’s good. I haven’t found a way to pop the black cover off from the back to be able to clean it, so that’s another annoying part.

Got it home in decent shape, but then put a 13 gallon bag in, and it doesn't even reach to the top. Useless!! why have a trash can that doesn't even fit 13 gallon bags?

When I picked up this product ordered on line, it had already been unboxed. I expressed disappointment with that because I wanted to transport it 45 miles to my home in the back of my truck. I ended up having to put it in a passenger seat. Because I was in a hurry I did not check out the product. When I returned home I discovered a dent on the back side of the can. All things considered this was a major fail by Target in many respects. Will not do a customer pickup again and will rethink buying household goods there.

Love it The lid can stay up alone with out pushing. Also you can push and lid open fast and close slowly. The hole in the inside to hold bag pretty cool. No damages picked up at store and a little heavy but worth it
