Q: How do you get a trash bag in this to stay on? I have not been able to get a standard kitchen trashbag in this.

With the lid on top of the base, hook the lid onto the notches and press firmly until you hear an audible click. When inserting the trash bag, wrap it around the front and sides of the wastebasket. Doing so will create enough tension to keep the trash bag secured on the back side and will stay in place during use.

    Wrong trash can too given

    Please don’t buy a trash can from target unless you check the top matches. I ordered this exact trash can on Saturday, pick it up Sunday and got home and the trash top is Q not C so I went back for the second time to target and they told me at first they would refund it and I told them is okay as long as I get the top is all I ask. Then I went to the isle to check if they had the C top for my trash can and they didn’t so I went back and told the gentlemen that was helping me with the return they didn’t have it and they’re answer was for me to go back for the 3rd time to get the trash can and return it so I can get another one. I see his logic, but that meant I had to go back for the 3rd time to target again so no I told them no thanks and left the top they gave me and walk out. Please make sure you get what you ordered before you leave because then it becomes a hustle.

    The Brightroom 11 gal Slim Step Trash Can lid is difficult to snap on. In addition 13 gallon trash bags are a snug fit and difficult to get all the way around, tho they do fit when stretched. Overall, the trash can serves its purpose, tho I wouldn't purchase again.

    Good Trash Can, but lid is hard to install

    It's a nice enough trash can, it's the second one I've bought. The only real downside I can tell so far is that the lid is so difficult to install. You wouldn't think it would be because it's such a simple design, but I think the problem is there is nothing to hold the trash can in place and nothing for your fingers to grip onto while you snap the lid in place. I forgot how I did it the first time so this time around after trying for a few minutes, I stood/sat straddled on the upright, open trash can so my weight would hold it down and in place, and I held the furthest end of the lid where the snap hooks (no idea what they are actually called) are, but from the outside and I pushed the snap hooks down onto the little bars and a bit towards me. It worked.

    Please read reviews on how to get lid on. I was trying in the store forever. I didn't want to bring it home and break it. One of the nice male workers asked to help me. He tried for a long time. Then I thought to loo online to see what it was supposed to look like. I saw the post describing how to do it. Turned upside down in less than a minute he fixed it. Thank you to everyone for the instructions. I needed this for a cheap plunger storage in my bathroom.

    DO NOT BUY THIS

    The lid is impossible to attach. It should be a simple snap-on mechanism, but it just does not clip on. I went on the website to complain but they want it returned and do they really think I’m going to package up the large item??????

    Not as advertised.

    This garbage bin is the right size but the step feature is a joke. There is no way to actually attach the lid to the mechanism. When I taped it together, just to see if I can “fix it”, I noticed that, when using the step feature, the lid wouldn’t open properly shut fully.

    Great Slim Trash Can for Kitchen!

    Perfect so far. Changes everything in the kitchen. Now the trash can be by the stove. Fingers crossed that the foot pedal doesn't fail! So far so great and can't beat the price. Also, I like lightweight and also white because you can tell when it needs to be cleaned. Black, not so much and...well...forget about stainless steel. Can never get smudges off that.
