However, the product sometimes absorbs odors before it reaches you. The source of this problem can be difficult to identify, but under certain conditions, paper/plastic products can absorb odor from a warehouse or other surroundings during storage. For this reason, they should not be stored with perfumed items such as dryer sheets, laundry detergents, etc. Hope this helps!

Q: Why are they not 13 gallon? Why are they too short for standard can?

Literally garbage
These trash bags are awful! And I think I bought them twice. First of all, they’re 13 gallon - fine, it’s in the listing-that’s my bad for not double checking the size. But traditionally, black trash bags are bigger and stronger. These split open if you look at them crosswise. And on every bag I have used from my new box so far, the drawstring has broken when I went to tie them shut. Stick with the Up and Up tall kitchen bags. They are far and away stronger.

I always get the drawstring bags, they are easy and convenient to pick up and tie. I like that they made this one black, it's hard to find this color in trash bag specifically 13gal heavy duty. The one thing I dont like is that is says heavy duty but the feel of the bag seems or is thinner than the other bags I've had. Fortunately so far I havent had any leaks from it and I'm hoping itll stay that way.

Black bags are the best
I try to always buy the blackout bags for my kitchen trash container. Black blends better with the metal canister and hides the grossness that is more visible with white bags. Although my canister has sometimes torn a hole toward the top of the bag when I’m trying to get it out, I haven’t had any problems with bottom bag leaks, which I truly appreciate. This is a great quality bag. I prefer the unscented, but there are scented options to help with odor control.

Beware quality has changed!! I've purchased these many times before. i just bought THREE darn boxes due to a gift card deal. And on every single one of the roughly 10 bags out of the box, the gray plastic drawstring/handle snaps and breaks when we are tying the bag! Do not buy, these are awful! Companies need to feel the hurt when they no longer care about quality.

I got defective bags, too.
The silver strap on one side is fused into the black material so it’s impossible to pull out, and the other side only comes out a couple inches before it stops. This means the bags cannot be properly tied up. Obviously a Quality Control issue.

Love these trash bags. They are the only ones we buy unless they are unavailable. They are pretty strong. We love that they are black, as who wants to see their trash once it’s in the bag? Love a black trash bag in a black trash can—no white bag sticking out! This scent is very light and not overpowering. The odor control lasts a few days unless you put something very stinky in the trash.

Unscented Hefty Kitchen trash bags .
I like having an unscented bag. I'm very sensitive to fragrance in products even something claiming to be "light", etc has been a problem. I also like the dark color of the bag as well how much it stretches. Normally, these bags are stocked in store but lately Target has only had them for shipping, which is fine as long as it's free and I can get it quickly.

Weak and awkward size
Wow these are bad compared to Glad. They are too loose at the top so they slide down inside my trash bin, they’re too short to fill the standard size tall trash can and when I pulled them out, the draw string snapped despite not being heavy trash. Extremely disappointed. I’ll be returning these and going back to Glad force flex.
