Q: Hi there, I was just trying to clean this with a disinfectent cleaner and all of a sudden this coating starting to come off of it when I ran it under water. What is that coating? I've never seen this.

Q: Can this work as a freestanding unit, without the suction cups, just sitting on the counter on its own?

I have been using this sponge holder for many years. It doesn’t rust, and works well. After years, the rubber suction stops working and needs to be replaced, but that happens after at least 2-3 years of use.

Does what I want it to do. Simple sponge holder that allows my sponge to drip into the sink and air dry. Had some difficulty getting the suction cups to stick at first, but got them a little wet and now they're really on there!

Easiest way to drain my sponges without it accumulating water on the top of the sink. I just leave it attached to the side and there’s plenty of room left. Did start rusting though which is odd for something that would get a lot of water on it.

Perfect to hold one sponge. I ordered it again when I moved. The first one was still holding up well after 2 years, but I didn’t feel like packing it. On occasions, it has fallen off but sticks back on easily. This only happened 2-3x over the 2 years.

Amazing quality, heavy duty, and holds up so well! The only thing is that the suctions cups sometimes will slip on the inside of my sink due to the heaviness of this and then a sponge but will restick easily when dry.

This sponge holder lasted us nearly a year before rust appeared at the bottom. I’ve had both porcelain and stainless steel sinks which it suctioned to without an issue. For the price it did a good job. We cleaned it frequently, never any mold issues. Will hold one sponge.
