Q: On the order page, the picture of the peanut butter shows "just stir and enjoy" the box to the right side says "NO need to stir, ready right out of the jar." Which IS it?? Don't want the no-stir .

A: This Peanut Butter NEEDS to be stirred when you first open the jar as the oil separates to the top of the peanut butter. Once it is stirred into the peanut butter it doesn't separate back out. We don't refrigerate it in our house and have never had a problem over the years of using it. A great "simple" peanut butter without any additional ingredients than Peanuts and Salt!
submitted byLittleRhody - 6 years agoA: Thought I would try this brand as I have always been a Jif guy...got tired of ALL the additives...Smuckers to me is pretty good and after purchasing I now turn it upside down...roll it around a bit which seems to mix the oil much more... than when I open the jar it is easier to mix...yes it is a bit grainy but hey it's made with peanuts. I am now staying with Smuckers all Natural...OldManDave

Q: Does this need to be refrigerated? We eat it and we also give some to the dogs as a treat. Is that ok?

A: Great set of questions! While we always suggest speaking to your vet, we can confirm our peanut butter does not contain Xylitol, which sometimes is used in other brands and is harmful for dogs to consume. Additionally, you do not need to keep this product refrigerated once opened. Hope this info helps!

Ground peanuts and oil were completely separated when I opened the jar. Ten minutes of hard & messy stirring resulted in a coarse paste. It was NOT creamy and had a very gritty taste. The peanut oil had an off-musty after taste. Worst creamy peanut I have ever tasted!!

I have been enjoying Smucker Natural Peanut Butter since the yearly 1980's. Now I can't find it. Just the organic stuff. At first I thought it was a labeling and marketing thing. Nope. This organic stuff is poop. It taste like peanut shells and is gritty. We have tried 3 jars of the organic with the same results. It is overall nasty and I will not be wasting my money on it.

99%+ peanuts! Who needs all those nasty additives anyway? Open the jar and this smells like a bag of peanuts at a ball game. Cannot beat that. Jif cannot get more than 90%. Smucker's is this family's brand.

Have been enjoying your peanut butter for years. I noticed on the last jar I bought that there is no caution to refrigerate after opening. What has changed? I always recommend to my friends, but I need an answer to my question before doing so again.

While years ago we did have a recommendation on the jar to keep it in the fridge, this was only a suggestion to help the peanut butter have a firmer consistency. Please be assured that his product has always been shelf-stable after opening and does not require refrigeration. However, feel free to continue storing it there if you prefer it that way. We hope this info helps!

I have stayed away from peanut butter for many years because I couldn’t find one without added oils. I starting making my own almond butter which I enjoy, but almonds especially organic, can get pricey. Well I found Smuckers Creamy Peanut Butter which does not contain any added oils!! And guess what, it comes in a glass jar, no plastic, at a more affordable price than the other brands! I’m hooked making creative healthy snacks and treats. I have been buying this ever since it came out. We won't eat any other peanut butter, especially those that claim to be natural but put sugar in the peanut butter. UGH! Love Smuckers! Please put it out in a big tub so I don't have so many jars!

I prefer to avoid plastic and go for all natural peanut butters, and this brand has the best taste of all natural peanut butter we’ve tried. It’s getting harder and harder to find so I order 6 jars at once. (The jars are nice to reuse, too since they have such a wide mouth).
