Q: On the order page, the picture of the peanut butter shows "just stir and enjoy" the box to the right side says "NO need to stir, ready right out of the jar." Which IS it?? Don't want the no-stir .

A: Thought I would try this brand as I have always been a Jif guy...got tired of ALL the additives...Smuckers to me is pretty good and after purchasing I now turn it upside down...roll it around a bit which seems to mix the oil much more... than when I open the jar it is easier to mix...yes it is a bit grainy but hey it's made with peanuts. I am now staying with Smuckers all Natural...OldManDave
submitted byOdlManDave - 5 years agoA: This Peanut Butter NEEDS to be stirred when you first open the jar as the oil separates to the top of the peanut butter. Once it is stirred into the peanut butter it doesn't separate back out. We don't refrigerate it in our house and have never had a problem over the years of using it. A great "simple" peanut butter without any additional ingredients than Peanuts and Salt!
submitted byLittleRhody - 7 years agoA: This natural peanut butter needs to be stirred. Sometimes it needs stirred a bit again. I store it upside down before opening it for the first time. That moves some of the oil to the original bottom so the whole thing is a bit easier to stir.

Q: Does this need to be refrigerated? We eat it and we also give some to the dogs as a treat. Is that ok?

A: Great set of questions! While we always suggest speaking to your vet, we can confirm our peanut butter does not contain Xylitol, which sometimes is used in other brands and is harmful for dogs to consume. Additionally, you do not need to keep this product refrigerated once opened. Hope this info helps!

Great PB! We’ve been buying this our whole lives, and have tried lots of other natural peanut butters. There are some healthier options that don’t have salt, but most people would miss the salt. For the best PB WITH salt, this seems to be the best tasting. Especially good on celery! We love that this one still comes in glass - hope they never switch to plastic.

Local Target doesn't carry it, so I have it shipped regularly. Just received a shipment of 8 (glass) jars - which came in a box WITH ABSOLUTELY NO PADDING OR CUSHIONING AT ALL. One of the jars broke all over the other 7. Spent more than an hour cleaning PB and glass bits off the jars (labels are still soaked with oil). Customer Service gave a refund for the 1 broken jar "and our apologies." Forget the apologies - TELL YOUR PACKING DEPARTMENT TO USE SOME BRAINS.

When I was in high school, I begged my mother -- a stalwart JIF fan -- to buy a jar of Smuckers Natural Peanut Butter, and it was love at first taste. That was the last jar of Smuckers she ever bought, but when I left home, I never bought anything but Smuckers; my husband did a couple of times, looking for a lower sodium option, but the heretic returned to our tried and true. Now my (adult) daughter is carrying on the tradition! Its rich peanut flavor, enhanced with just a hint of salt, matches well with sweet counterpoints like jam, raisins, or bananas, but works equally well in Asian cuisines, like Peanut Noodles or Pad Thai. (I secretly like Smuckers Natural CRUNCHY Peanut Butter better, but in the interest of family harmony, we usually purchase CREAMY Peanut Butter.)

I saw a sign at my grocery store that this peanut butter is not being continued. Love this smooth and natural peanut butter. To manage separation of oil, turn the bottle upside down for a few days before opening. It’s easy to stir! Also if you eat peanut butter regularly as dip for apples and along side bananas don’t refrigerate.

Even after stirring, this peanut butter is WAY too liquid. The jar was labeled creamy but it was very chunky - tons of small peanut bits. This product was not smooth at all. And the biggest disappointment was the taste. It was the blandest peanut butter I've ever tried. Definitely won't buy this product again.

Learning of changes health wise as I age I needed to remove sugar from my daily food intake. I dropped all the standard brands and changed to your smooth peanut butter albeit the oil naturally rises to the top.So, I had to improvise and counteract this by turning the jars upside down in the cupboard and when the previous jar is nearly empty I pull out the new jar, remove the lid, microwave it for 40 seconds, deposit the content into a mixing bowl and mix until the oil is again integrated with the peanuts. I then put it back in the jar and put it in the fridge to keep it stable. A bit of work and effort but well worth the fact it is clean of any and all chemicals and additives.Great taste, no chalkiness, just peanuts!!

My wife and I love your peanut butter and have been eating it for many years. The only thing I don't like about it is.often the peanut butter becomes a hard lump that is almost impossible to stir. My hands are getting somewhat arthritic with age making it increasingly difficult to mix the oil and peanut butter. I've noticed in the reviews that I'm not the first person to have this difficulty so perhaps it's time to do something about it..

By far the best peanut butter I’ve had and the only kind I buy now. Yes, when you first open the can, there’s a lot of oil at the top. This is normal and standard for all natural PB’s. I always shake the jar really good before opening the lid and then stir with a butter knife for 2 min and it’s good to go! If you’re use to PB such as JIF, it may take some time to get use to because the flavor is drastically different (but better!). It actually tastes like peanut butter - you can actually taste the peanuts and the texture works so well on bread! Highly recommend!

First time I bought this product and I liked its flavor, I love that it only has two ingredients. I have the doubt that if it requires refrigeration after opening or not, it does not indicate it anywhere.
