Description
Mind the Gap from SolidRoots is a trivia game for the generations! Players divide up into equal teams. The idea is that the generations work together to make it around the board as quickly as possible. Put at least 1 person from each generation on each team. Or you can break the teams up by generation, pitting the generations against each other. The 5 trivia categories include TV/Film, Pop Culture, Music, Headlines, and Slang/Slogans. The more questions you answer right, the further you get to move along the board. If you land on a space with a star, the team must choose 1 member to draw a challenge card. The first team or player to make it all the way around the board- through each generation- and back to their colored space is the winner! Whether you are searching for fun new board games or family games for your next party- this is the trivia game for you. All you need is 2+ players and an hour or less to play. Couldn’t find Trivial Pursuit so settled on this. It was a great choice for us especially with one player from each generation. Would be five stars if the instructions weren’t so confusing. My two very intelligent sons even struggled with interpreting the rules. We still had a great time muddling through the first game. It was fun learning things I didn’t know about my kids’ generations.

The age groups were based upon actual born in decades instead of what decade you grew up in. It was all really confusing and was made the questions harder for each age group. Who ever put the card questions together was very lazy.

My family loves games but this game is just poorly done. The objective doesn’t make sense and it was hard to follow.. it really took the fun out of the generational questions among my family. We ended up creating our own rules because the game wasn’t fun. I don’t think we will ever play it again.

My family loves this game !! I got it because my family loves trivia however most trivia games become less fun when you dont know some random fact. However we do not have this issue with this trivia game! If your family loves trivia then you need to get this game its cute and fun! Im already planning to buy the expansion pack!

We love this game! The instructions could be clearer, but we caught on pretty quickly. The questions are hard but they are very engaging and always a conversation starter in the group. We started a rule that if a team gets stuck on a category for three turns in a row to move back a space. It keeps the game moving.

Bought this game as a Christmas present and played it with the recipients. The instructions were very difficult to follow, it seemed like a fifth grade mashup of a few other games, it was very slow to start and didn't progress in a fun way, we were quite relieved when we made it once around the board and could quit the game. We were glad to go home to another state without the game, hopefully they can find some online hacks to be able to better utilize the strategies and make this fun for sll ages. I know this star rating is not Target's fault, just buyer beware regarding this game. Good luck.

Vague instructions, typos in the instructions, missing artwork in the instructions, instructions that don’t make sense, incorrect answers (we found at least 2), questions that aren’t for the generations they are in (Shows that are more gen x are labeled as millennial, etc), colors that are difficult to distinguish, board spaces that don’t match the instructions. Like why do you choose what question category you want on the colored squares when they’re clearly marked as challenge squares? Some of the questions were worded such that the answers they were looking for were unclear. I bought this thinking that it would put my gen z teens on equal footing with us and other older relatives which is a really exciting idea for a trivia game but they knew almost none of the gen z answers and of course they had to answer everything else around the board too. I was really disappointed in this game. It’s a great concept but this feels like a rough draft versus a finished product. I’m really surprised there are so many positive reviews!

My friends and I really enjoy this game. There are some questions that are extremely challenging and then some that seem way to easy. The game rules are slightly confusing initially but overall it’s a good time and the challenges give us some laughs.
