Q: How am I to know what color I’ll be sent? For instance, under the color family menu for “blue” it has the name “Fir Sure,” but a picture that matches the manufacturer’s picture of “Pretty Shore About You.”

Q: Is this really 2.2 oz., as listed? Most standard nail polish bottles are .5 oz. or less. Hard to believe this is over 4 x bigger than those.
submitted by Ruby Slippers - 3 years ago
A: SOPHi nail polish is 0.5 fl. oz. (standard nail polish bottle size). The gross weight is 2.2 oz. (for shipping).

Q: Is this the "pretty shore about you" shade? Sophi does not have a shade named "pale green", as this item is listed. I want to make sure I'm buying the color I want.

Q: What are the ingredients?
submitted by Blondie - 3 years ago
A: Here's the ingredient listing for SOPHi Nail Polish: Water, acrylates copolymer, neem oil. May contain (depending on shade): ultramarines, iron oxide, titanium dioxide, mica, red 28, red 34, red 22, red 7, yellow 10, violet 2, zinc sulfide/copper, chrome green, orange 5.
The bottle was old and Polish was hard inside, thinking it was opened and used and air got inside so Polish dried out. It can’t be painted on nails with hard chunks in it

I really wanted to love this polish. I love the nontoxicity and lack of a smell! It has a thick brush and goes on dark (I got the deep purple color) even after the first coat for a great color. But it doesn't last long (chips easily). I added extra coats and a topcoat and it still chips off within hours of application. It's tough to remove with polish remover, however.

I like using low-odor and chemical-free polish when I can, and so I was excited when I came across this vibrant purple. And while it does have almost no smell, the plish began peeling off my nails in less than a day. I had to do touch ups on half my nails first thing in the morning after I applied it the night before, and I hadn't done anything remotely rough at all with my nails. And the application leaves something to be desired--the first coat goes on smooth but after that it can get a little chunky in places and you have to smooth it with the top coat or start over on that finger. On the bottle, I noticed it recommends using their full system and blow drying your nails for a minute to set; I tried that and it really doesn't help much. Plus, it is strangely hard to get off for how quickly it peels and chips. I'm going to try using a tacky base coat like Bonder next time in hope it will help, since I really can't return this used, but this polish is probably not one I'll use often just because of the upkeep involved.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried this nail color system and while I like the fact that it is free of any harsh chemicals, there were a few downsides to this. It chipped quicker than I had expected and there were a lot of different steps to this system.

If I could give this nail polish zero stars I would. I had it on for less than a day and almost all of my nails had started chipping off in big noticeable chunks. Very disappointed because I loved the color but the longevity was nonexistent. Don’t waste your money

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This nail polish is some of the best I have came across. There is no harsh smell that normally comes with nail polish. It has lasted me well over 3 weeks no chipping or peeling. There is also a vast variety of colors to choose from.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This polish is very nice and drys pretty fast if you use the blow dryer as you apply as it says. Definitely have to put top coat or else the polish will look very dull but it’s a easy to follow system you can’t go wrong.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Such great quality nail polishes. Doesnt have harsh smell that lingers. I recieved beautiful colors. The whole kit is amazing. It would be a perfect starter kit for anyone going into nails. Goes on smoothly and rarely need two coats. I love them i think they are absolutely great.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I did not expect to like this nail polish. I've used a lot of the more natural brands and they all seem to chip super quickly (like by the end of the first hour sometimes). So I did not expect this to work out. But using the base coat, the polish and the top coat together and using the hair dryer to blow dry my nails between each layer, like the box said to do really helped. I wasn't initially going to go that far and use the hair dryer. I thought it was just a little overdoing it but though why not try it and see. I've never had natural nail polish stay on that long before.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the fact that it’s a less toxic polish. I tried the don’t coffee me brown shade and it was okay. I say it didn’t have a terrible smell to it. I was not impressed with the primer+sealer. It had a strong smell to it and I hated the brush. For some reason it would split when doing a brush stroke which made the brush difficult to work with. Uneven. The shine coat was really nice. It didn’t have the same issue brush issue. I’ve had it on for a few days with no chips still looks fresh. I haven’t tried to change the color yet so I can’t say how it removes. Would recommend. Just wish the primer+sealer brush was better. Could have been a me problem tho as the other brushes were fine.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am so impressed by the SOPHi by Piggy Paint Nail Polish. I am very tough on my nails, and can never get polish to last more than a few hours before chipping. Therefore, I normally don't polish my nails unless I have a reason, and even then, I only use gel polish at home (which, if you've ever done gel at home, takes a while). I didn't have much hope for this polish, but gave it a try. Let me just say that I will be getting more colors. This polish is fabulous! I got the color Fearless, which is a bright orangey-red and stunning. I was shocked when I opened it and literally couldn't smell anything. Most polishes smell so strong, but this had no smell. I followed the directions to a t. It is a bit of a process, but really didn't take that much longer, plus, it's way quicker than gel. After applying the primer/sealer, I went in with the polish. Two things that really stood out to me was: 1. The polish (even a thin coat) goes on very opaque. You could probably get away with doing 1 coat. 2. The polish dries super fast. After each polish coat I used my blow dryer on warm/low setting and dried my nails for about a minute. Because there are no harsh chemicals, the heat from the dryer is supposed to help "cure" the polish. After applying 2 thin coats of polish, I went in with a layer of Shine Topcoat and then a final layer of the primer/sealer and finished it with a last shot of warm air. My nails were done and dry in less than 30 minutes. Not only did they look fantastic, but this polish system made them feel nice and strong. As if I haven't said enough good things about this polish, let me add that this stuff lasts! I went 4 days before I even noticed the slightest chip at the very top of my nail. After almost a week, it finally started to chip. This polish, for me, has the staying power of gel, without the UV light and harsh chemicals. I will mention, that, not only does it stay put like gel, but I did find it quite difficult to remove. I had to do the soak off method with acetone, and even that was difficult. They make a remover specifically for this polish, which I have not tried yet, but I will definitely purchase. You can't go wrong with SOPHi polish system by Piggy Paint. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves painted nails, but maybe, like me, needs something with more lasting power. I can't wait to get more colors!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had high hopes for this polish, especially with how many steps there are involved in using it. I did both mine and my daughters nails and it took a good hour. So when it takes that much time and so many steps you’re hoping for a great outcome. However that was not our experience! Within 4 hours all the polish had chipped of her nails and not a single bit was left. I woke up the morning after and somehow it had chipped of my toenails in my sleep. So the things it claims it won’t do it does exactly that. Chips off and doesn’t last. Extra time to use and electricity and it was a major fail!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very nice polish, color is opaque but I still do two coats, free of chemicals so I feel safe letting my girls use it. I’ve looked into their color range and they seem to have a nice variety probably gonna get that Jade color next. It doesn’t last as a gel color would on me but I like this option for my nails since I think it’s better for my nails than other polish brands. Overall I would recommend this brand not pricey and good quality in my opinion. Just make sure you prep your nails before applying Polish. It always helps w longevity of the polish.

First thing I checked was the smell and to my surprise SOPHI did not have a strong smell like nail polish can have. So that was a great first impression. Then the color! It's gorgeous! And it only took one coat and I could go about my day!
