Coarse wirey hair that is super thick
I bought this 2 weeks ago and so far I like it. I am still learning how to use it. I have very thick, coarse, wirey hair (greys in there and blonde). The dryer attachment works fast, and I love the wrap tools. The coanda doesn't work at all for my wirey fly aways unfortunately. The smoothing brush and round brush aren't anything I would write home about either and I think that is simply because of my hair type. But I can now do beautiful curls in 20 minutes. I could never get that with a curling iron. And the best part is that my curls hold for 3 days. Sleeping on them with terrible flannel sheets and pillow cases. My hair usually doesn't hold a curl for more than 2 hours and that is with a ton of hairspray. With my air wrap I only use smoothing blow dry cream, and after I use texturizing spray or sea salt spray.

Purchased approximately 12 months ago, overheats and constantly shuts down. My wife needs to wait for it to cool down to use it. Extremely frustrating.

It’s not what I expected. It just makes my hair and scalp super dry after the use. I don’t see the value for money here.

Sad it didn’t hold
I bought this a few weeks ago and I’m so bummed that it just doesn’t work on my hair. The curls are gorgeous for about an hour then they disappear. And I’m not the kinda person who wants to load my hair with product just to make this work. Sad cuz I’d always wanted it to work but sad it didn’t.

Still not sure
I received this for my birthday and I been wanting one for a long time so I was very excited. I love how quiet the hair dryer is but that is about it. I think my expectations were too high and unfortunately I just don’t love it and after several weeks I have gone back to my other hair drying tool. I have watched endless tutorials and videos but I can’t achieve the right amount of volume, hold and shape that I want and previously achieved. It might take more practise and perhaps smaller attachments as my hair is shoulder length but if I hadn’t thrown away the cardboard box I would have returned it as it isn’t the answer to my hair needs that I hoped it would be.

Hair feels like straw
It’s a beautifully designed hair dryer but it left my hair feeling like straw and I had another friend said it did the same to her hair. Perhaps, it’s not meant for kinky (african american) hair. I’m outside of my warranty and I’m stuck with it but sad nothing can be done. Money wasted.

What?
My hair is very thick and the brush attachments nylon bristles are too weak snd short to get through my hair. I was not expecting this at all. It's probably a deal breaker but I''ll persevere for awhile longer. I'm looking for straightening and shaping, not curling.

I love it!
I love my airwrap. It’s so light weight and works so fast. I save time getting ready while also sparing my hair damage. I can already tell a difference in how healthy it is. It’s easy to use. I love that all the attachments make it easy to travel with. I wish I had gotten one sooner. A big concern with me was if it didn’t get super hot how would my thick course curly hair do with it. I didn’t have to worry at all. I can style my hair and it last for nearly a week. It’s not frizzy at all. I’m so pleased with Dyson. I highly recommend.

Amazing for wigs, not great for fine stubborn hair
I bought this primarily for styling wigs and it is phenomenal for that. I don't use the i.d. for wigs, but the learning curve was fairly easy (except the round brush, which I've always struggled to understand). I also tried it on my own hair, but I was very disappointed. I was very excited for the i.d. feature, because it seemed like it would make styling my very stubborn hair much easier, but I found that it really didn't work. I tried lengthening the cool blast and playing around with temperature, but even the best curls were still limp a few hours later. I will have to experiment with it more, but I'm disappointed that it wasn't intuitive (nor lasting), and I wonder if I should just ignore the i.d. feature. I also find connecting it to my phone is mildly annoying. The "tutorials" in the app are also wildly unhelpful and trying to find the style I'm looking for was much harder than it should've been (I stg the tutorials moved positions between the first time I saw it and when I went to look again).

Curls doesn’t hold even though I used it on semi dry hair. Tried different wetness of hair and didn’t work. Tried using hair cream but didn’t work too. Used it as hair dryer but speed is too slow. Not worth the price
