Q: Is this online listing for a physical card or a digital code?

submitted by Itsemac - 1 year ago

  • A: It only includes a piece of paper with the digital code.

submitted bySW - 1 year ago

  • A: This game has only been released as a digital code (but in a box). So the claim that this is a "physical copy of the game," really only refers to the physical box that the paper code comes in.

    I should've read the reviews first :(

I thought I was purchasing the physical cartridge, not a download code. Please elaborate this listing as a digital download.

Bought this and the keycode had already been used. Target said there was nothing they could do. Buyer beware.

    Surprise! Landfill wothout a cartridge

Old news for some but for ppl buying gifts and whatnot the fact that there is NO CARTRIDGE inside the dumb case is bananas. Sell me a piece of landfill with my download code. Not clearly labeled. So annoyed Target carries these.

    Dishonest

No physical game included, just a code. The title of this listing should say “digital” just like every other digital game target sells. It’s misleading for customers. Target should be more clear with the items they sell instead of trying to trick customers into paying for a product they don’t want.

    Misleading

Great game, but disappointed with Target on this. It was completely unclear that this would be a product with a physical box and a piece of paper with a code in it for digital redemption.

    waste of plastic/packaging

got nervous at first as we also opened ours to find no game cartridge and only a code. luckily the code seems to work and download is in progress. I do think this is ridiculous and wasteful. whats the point of having the case ? that makes zero sense.

There is nothing that could be done if your code doesn't work unless you're willing to wait

Do not buy this game in store, especially if you don’t have a target that is really close to where you live. I bought this during the spend 100 get $30 off sale for Nintendo games and I opened the game like not even eight or so days after I got it in the download code doesn’t work so not only do I have to have time to actually go up and possibly try to refund this since I see a lot of issues with trying to get a replacement for this but even if you contact Nintendo, there’s nothing that could be done about it because it’s not one of their codes so I’m not even mad at Nintendo. I’m more so mad at waiting on EA to contact me. I sent them a message over five days at the point. Basically, if you buy this in store there is nothing that can be done online. You can’t get a refund or a replacement. You have to return to the store. This is nothing but a scam at this point..

Do not buy from Target! I bought the box with download code, and it said it was already redeemed. Called Target support and they said they can offer me a replacement or refund and i foolishly asked for a replacement. That code was already redeemed too. Their next solution was to call Nintendo as once it is replaced they cannot offer another replacement or refund since it was a game. I called Nintendo and they said because it is not published by Nintendo, I would have to contact EA. EA is not open on weekends so I will see what bs response they will give me when I call. So much hassle, and if that doesn’t work I’ll have wasted money. Thanks Target for nothing!!

I purchased this game online. But when I used the code included in the box, it showed that the game had already been redeemed. This is fraud.

Seriously what was the point of putting a digital code in a physical case? Whos idea was this? If i wanted to download the game digitally i wouldve just bought it from the eshop. This is just so unnecessary and unethical in alot of ways.

No cartridge. Yes it says it on the box in tiny letters so this review is to highlight that fact.

Love this game! It’s a great couch-co-op, which doesn’t seem all that common these days.

Just a digital code. Why did we bother going to the store? Nintendo should be ashamed.
