Q: I separated the saucer from the main planter when I repotted my plant, to make sure all the extra water drained out. Now the 2 parts don't seem like they want to snap back together. How do I fix this?

Q: What is the hole in the bottom side for?

A: The side hole makes the pot look like it's self-watering but unfortunately it's not. It's a drain hole to dump out the excess water that's collected in the basin because the tray does not detach.

I love the aesthetic and that these pots are very affordable. However, proceed with CAUTION if you don’t plan to drill more drainage holes - especially IF POTTING SUCCULENTS in these. I nearly gave root rot to my mature jade plant & aloe plant since there is neither adequate grading towards the existing drainage holes (as purchased) nor is there a sufficient amount of drain holes (as purchased). See before/after pic - the water is draining much better now!

I don’t think the bottom does much if you water from it. I’ve also gotten myself wet not knowing that much water went through from watering the plant a bunch of times. I’ve had some of these over a year. I give it 5 stars because the price literally can’t be beat for something so simple nowadays. It does seem bigger because it’s not circular. Pretty good base pot with drainage
