This wand is pretty awesome! The package says that it stays lit for 5 hours- but ours was still going strong over 24 hours later. There is a subtle glow even in daylight. The top star piece does not light up- it is a plastic piece that slips over the glow stick.

Fun glow wands
These glow wands were a big hit for the kiddos at night. One wand started glowing immediately after cracking it and shaking. The second however took 30 min to start glowing after being cracked and shaken.
