Q: Is this considered a low acid coffee? I am anxious to try this based on the reviews, but am looking for a low acid instant coffee. Any suggestions?
submitted by Suzie - 2 years ago
A: Thanks for reaching out, Suzie! All coffee, regardless of form, falls into a pH range of 4.8 to 5.2. The technical "acidity" level is no different. We hope this helps! -Teresa

Great for lazy mornings
These are great for when you just want a cup of coffee fast without all the cleanup or running the coffee machine. The coffee is smooth and buttery, and does not have that instant coffee taste.

Pikes,you changed
I've been using Pikes for years. My coffee hasn't been tasting yummy for awhile, thought, hmmm,I need a new coffee maker,so I got one. Coffee did taste better, but still didn't give me that happy face. Maybe it's the Pikes, bammm, reviews backed up what I was now thinking. I will now try a different coffee, bye Pikes,it's been beautiful mornings until you changed.

Caffeine levels
Dear Starbucks Team, Could you please provide information on the caffeine content of your coffee pods, including any variations between pod types? I’d appreciate your guidance as I track my caffeine intake in pregnancy. Thank you and loveee your coffee

Did You Recently Change Pike Place Blend?
I have been drinking the Starbucks Pike Place Blend (black) for the last 5 years as my house coffee. I drink it daily and have absolutely loved it. However, about 2 or 3 months ago I noticed that the coffee tastes cheaper and more bitter. It's definitely not the same blend that it used to be. To prove it, I opened an older bag that I saved and it tasted excellent, the way that I have become accustomed too. However, when I compared it to the new bag, the new bag tasted far worse, much more bitter. The variation isn't due to the bag because I have had this problem with the last 3 bags of Pike Place Blend that I have ordered. Thus, I would like to know if you altered the Pike Place Blend to make it a cheaper lower quality coffee. My strong suspicion is that you have, which would be very unfortunate since it's the seminal coffee blend that made Starbucks an icon. SBUX's thoughts would be appreciated.

Exploding Coffee Pods! Oh no!
I purchased a ninja coffee maker and wanted to find a really good quality coffee. I was excited when I decided to purchase Pike Place kcups. The coffee tastes good but it's a real disappointment when I get a mouthful of coffee grinds. Yuck! This was the case with 90% of the kcups. I bought a 60 count box. I tried other kcups in my new coffee maker and there was no problem. It's the Pike Place kcups. I am very disappointed. I was looking forward to drinking high quality coffee in the mornings. Could this be a bad box and it wouldn't happen again? Should I try again or move on. I'm not sure.

Wonderful!!!
This is fantastic coffee! Anyone who me knows that I have been drinking a full pot of coffee daily virtually my entire life and I am 47 years old. I am also a former Starbucks barista. The whole beans means that this bag will last you much longer than say a can of Folgers.

Awful tasting
This is probably one of the worst tasting coffees ever. To me it tastes like bad instant freeze dried coffee. Since day 1 when Starbucks first came out with it, i thought it was bad. It hasn’t gotten any better over the years. On a several occasions, I’ve been given this coffee by mistake. From the 1st sip, I know instantly that I was mistakenly given Pikes. I wish the Baristas would stop doing that. It’s undrinkable and goes down the drain.

Delicious ground coffee
My husband and I first experienced this coffee on Veterans Day when Starbucks gave us free coffee. We are hooked! We bought a bag and had it ground by the barista and we’ve been drinking it every day, sometimes twice per day. It has an excellent nutty flavor we enjoy and is honestly flavorful with no bitter aftertaste. I advise following the instructions on the bag for a perfect cup.

Not good
Had this freshly ground by Starbucks themselves. This is a subpar coffee. Ended up throwing it out after a week.
