About the Author



Tim Needles (@timneedles) is an artist, educator, performer, international speaker and author. He has been teaching art and media, and serving as a technology integration specialist, at Smithtown School District in New York for more than 25 years. He also serves as an adjunct college professor. Needles is a TEDx speaker, and his work has been featured on NPR, in The New York Times and at Columbus Museum of Art and Norman Rockwell Museum, among others. He has received many awards, including the ISTE Making It Happen Award, the National Art Education Association's (NAEA) Eastern Region Art Educator Award, and the Rauschenberg Power of Art Award. He's also a board member for the New York State Association for Computers and Technologies in Education (NYSCATE) and New York State Art Teachers Association (NYSATA), an ISTE Community Leader, a NASA Solar System Ambassador and a teacher leader in the CAN Connected Arts Network Professional Learning Community. Needles works with several educational technology companies, including serving as an Adobe Creative Educator Innovator, LEGO Education Ambassador, Discovery Education DEN Star, Google Certified Champion, PBS Digital Innovator and a National Geographic Certified Teacher.
