A: Hi Guest - Thank you for reaching out. The end caps need to be making contact with the ceiling and floor during the twist step. The end cap must be screwed all the way down before starting. That is how tension is applied while twisting. A real review
Don’t listen to the bad reviews, they must not be installing it right. I’ve had this for about a year and a half and it hasn’t fallen down once or not held tension, and I have a lot of products on it. You definitely need to measure because this may not fit your shower and you may need to have someone stronger than you to push it back so it actually holds tension. This is such a great addition to my shower that doesn’t have shelves, definitely a need.

Don't buy!!
This thing has no tension rod. How does that make any sense???? It stood up for a while and then collapsed and I can't even get it to remotely stay together. I hate it. Save yourself

Not a reliable product.
I bought this several weeks ago and it has come loose multiple times. Frankly, I think it's because there is no spring to help aid in keeping it in place. You're just supposed extend the pole to the length you need, tighten it down and put it in place. The other times I've used a tension rod (not a shower caddy version) you have both a length adjustment and a spring that helps it stay in place. Not this product. Do NOT purchase.

Does not hold tension
As you tighten it, it cannot hold enough tension to stay up. It slips and loosens itself as you try to increase tension. If you do manage to get it tight, any amount of manipulation will cause it to wobble out of place. Do not recommend.

Lasted 8yrs!
Only just today have I noticed rust on it. Bought it in July 2017. It’s done us good because we have so many shower/hair products between 3 people! It stayed up the whole time too, no issues with tension until maybe a month ago or so with my 12yr old daughter. Not sure what she did, but I suspect she tried to get something higher up and pulled it (I know, dangerous).

Difficult to tighten
You will need at least 3 hands to put this together. I purchase 2 one for each bathroom, and they work fine it does the job. But it took 3 hands to get the tension to work.

Do not waste your money!!!! There is no tension rod. I thought mine came without one accidentally but it’s actually not made with one. I put it together put it in my shower and that night it came crashing down. I then came to the reviews to realize that everyone was having the same problem.

It took a few attempts and we read the instructions several times but we got it assembled and installed and are loving it. Big baskets, we are only using two. It keeps our shower stuff organized and high enough to easily use. Sturdy baskets. Great price. So far, so good!

It was a little difficult to put up at first. But I found if you put the rod just a little longer then you need. Then put it on the ceiling first, and then the bottom last. That works and you don’t scratch or damage your paint in anyway.
