I love these totes, along with the half-size version (#1936). They fit my garage shelf units (probably Sterilite, but I've had them so many years I cant be 100% sure.) 2 of these fit on a shelf, or 4 of the half-size units. They hold all kinds of storage - craft supplies, fabric for projects, pillows, blankets, seaonal decor, etc. I have to keep buying more because I give them away to my friends after they see how handy they are. They are getting harder and harder to find, I hope they aren't discontinued any time soon.

Originally I was disappointed that I couldn’t get the putty color but after receiving the dark gray, I actually like it better. It’s better for my space anyway. My furniture is mostly dark cherry wood and this color just blends best. I use these in my apartment to store clothing mainly (I prefer a cabinet over a dresser) although one is used for lots of other things such as gifts, wrapping paper, small tools, etc. I’ve used other similar Sterilite cabinets for years and I’ve never had trouble with shelves sagging. These are easy to move around if needed and easy to move on moving day!

The upper part of the utility cabinet is missing (both sides and both doors). Super frustrating! If you buy this, make sure all pieces are included before you start putting it together!

I bought the 50 quart shelf tote expecting the dimensioning to be accurate (I needed it to fit something in a specific height and orientation). However, it seems that with these totes the dimensions are consistently around an inch shorter than advertised. This has made it so I could not use the tote for its intended purpose. I performed my own measurements with a ruler and found the dimensions of the container to be 14 3/4" x 19" x 14 1/2" rather than the 15 1/12" x 19 7/8" x 14 3/4" advertised. I'm not sure where the dimensions noted on the product are obtained from, but it was frustrating not to be able to use the bin for its intended purpose.

The dimensions listed on our website and labels are the measurements taken from the widest points of the product, typically the lid or top, and include any protrusions such as latches. Inside bottom dimensions are smaller as the product tapers downward. This is the universal method for measuring housewares

I needed containers for my children's homeschooling books and activity sheets. I wanted to find containers that is easy for me to organize things. This is why I love the Sterilite shelftotes because it's durable, it makes organizing easier for me, and when I need something from a certain curriculum I can just grab it. I like to stack them so it doesn't take a of space also. Such a great help to me and my children!

I went to the hardware store and found this shelf tote. I carried it over to the another brand's ventilated shelving unit and was able to fit two on each shelf: perfect fit. I had purchased several of the shelving units and was looking for uniform boxes. The other brand's totes for the same purpose were too complex as they had attached lids that fold into each other (no seal). This tote is simple and effective. I recommend purchasing 6 unit boxes

Sizing is ideal not only with Sterilite shelves but also Elfa, ClosetMaid, and many other common brands. Clear plastic makes it easy to tell which bin is holding which item(s) you need.

I love the fact that these totes fit on my shelves. I bought the shelves and the few clear totes I have together. Yes, these totes used to be clear. Yes, they were a little less durable than some of the blue totes I have in other styles from Sterilite, but for use in the shop for long term storage, clear was the best. Bring back the clear, and I will buy more!
