Q: are the Hearth and Hand dishes lead free?
A: Yes, the FDA standards mean that they are supposedly lead safe but that doesn't mean free of lead. So they are not actually safe.
submitted byMichelle - 1 year agoA: Hello, All of our items are completely food safe and pass all testing (never exceeding the standard range set by the FDA) for lead. Thanks,
submitted byOblong Pillow - 3 years agoTarget staff supportA: I tested my hearth and hand reactive glaze plates, salad plates, bowls and mugs and ALL came back positive for lead!

Q: These are very aesthetically pleasing but do they scratch easily?
A: Hi CapodonYeti - I appreciate you browsing Hearth & Hand™ with Magnolia for dinnerware. These durable stoneware plates are microwave- and dishwasher-safe. They're designed to hold up well with regular use. Thanks! - Philip
submitted byPhilip - 6 years agoTarget staff supportA: They scratch SO easily. I bought the salad plates, dinner plates, and bowls last November and am going to have to get an entire new set this year because they're SO scratched. They look terrible.
submitted bySarahW - 5 years agoA: They will scratch as soon as you take them out of the box and put silverware to it! They also chip very easily and I've replaced numerous plates. The quality is very poor.

Q: Can these be micrwaved?
A: Yes you can microwave them but they will probably already be broken by the time you put them in the microwave.
submitted byem_kren - 3 years agoA: Hi Maggie - Great question. Yes, these stoneware plates are microwave and dishwasher safe. Thanks for stopping by! - Matt
submitted byguest services - 7 years agoTarget staff supportA: No, not if you want them to last. You can get away with microwaving them a few times but they will eventually break in the microwave. Mine started breaking in microwave after a few months.
