Q: I'm looking at this 14" bike or the 12" Sport for my grandson.. He is 4 years old, 41" tall with an inseam of 17.5" Which bike would you suggest?
Thank You
submitted by Sharvey - 4 years ago
A: I would suggest the Strider 14x with the add-on pedal kit. We put together all the right ingredients to give your tyke a taste of confidence to successfully shift from riding a balance bike to pedaling like a pro as quickly as possible. It is designed to fit a rider with an inseam: 40-58 cm (16-23 in.); Rider Height: Approx. 95-125 cm (37-49 in.) ; Rider Age: 3 to 7 years; Seat Height: 38-55 cm (15-22 in.) If you have more questions please contact Strider Sports International Customer Service Dept.

Q: What is the height from ground to the seat (lowest level) on 14in and 12in bikes? I'm trying to decide between 14in or 12in balance bike for my 3 yr old (3ft tall).
submitted by amanshaveta - 4 years ago
A: On the STRIDER 12 SPORT the Seat Height is 28 - 48 cm (11 - 19 in.) and fits a huge range of inseam lengths (30-51 cm [12-20 in.]). On the STRIDER 14x the Seat Height is 38-55 cm (15-22 in.) and fits a rider with an inseam of 40-58 cm (16-23 in.). Thanks for the question. Ann H Strider Customer Service Dept.

Q: I’m researching your product and I need the 14 inch bike, but I’m hesitant to purchase because the 12 inch is a five star rated product and the 14 inch is four star rated. Why is there a difference in the ratings?
submitted by Nona Maria - 4 years ago
A: Thank you for your question! The 14x is a fairly newly released product - we have been able to listen to customer concerns and make necessary adjustments. At Strider we pride ourselves on quality and this product is no different! Please reach out if you have additional questions.
Thank you!

Q: Does the Strider Sport 14" come with pedals? On other websites the pedal kit is sold separately for an additional cost.
submitted by jen b - 4 years ago
A: Jen b, The Pedal kit is offered separately on Target.com - please use this link https://www.target.com/b/strider/-/N-wpqmz - If you have more questions please contact Strider at customerservice@striderbikes.com or call us at 605-342-0266.

Q: I see in the specs that this one is almost 20 pounds? That sounds excessive given the strider 12 sport is only 2.9 Kgs. Can someone confirm the weight of this bike and if a 1.5 year can comfortably handle this?
submitted by Vikram - 4 years ago
A: Thank you for your questions, you have alerted us to an error on the listing for the Green 14x. We have since corrected the information to the following Specifications
Dimensions (Overall): 41.5 Inches (L), 17 Inches (H) x 27.25 Inches (W)
Suggested Age: 3-7 Years
Weight: 13.5 Pounds
Bicycle Frame Material: Steel
Please note the 14x is for children with an inseam of 16 inches or more so unless your child is much larger than the average 1.5 year old this would not be the appropriate choice. We would recommend the 12 Sport for a new rider. Please contact your customer service team at 605-342-0266 if you need more assistance with product details.

Q: We are considering purchasing a balance bike for our niece's 3rd birthday. However, she can already pedal a tricycle. We are also considering buying her a training wheel bike. What makes this a better choice?
Simple, lightweight, and well-designed. Better than bikes that cost twice as much.

My 4 yr old loves this bike. After a year or so trying to teach her how to use pedals, this is so much better. It's completely adjustable in 3 places, from the seat to the handle bars. We love it!

Bought it on target.com twice because the first time I got the product that’s with cardboard all taped up, and then the second time they still sent it from the same Indianapolis return center, Rapid City, SD. Seems like ordering from target.com just get you returned items.

The bike itself is great! Wish it came with a kickstand though. My daughter enjoys riding it but it is challenging for her at 3 years old to balance still - I think with time it will be great. The bike itself is sturdy, well put together and easy to assemble. Sturdy frame, easy and adjustable seat. The bike itself is light. Definitely a great purchase.

Great bike!! Awesome quality and perfect for teaching balance. We started with the 12” Strider bike when our daughter was two, and at 3 1/2 she’s grown too tall for it. So we upgraded to this one. Being winter in Michigan she hasn’t had a chance to ride it outside, but she’s ridden it around the basement and is super excited about her new bike! Highly recommend this one and the 12” one depending on your child’s age/height.

I have an extremely tall 3 year old so we had to get a larger balance bike. This one is made well and sturdy! I love that we can just order the pedal/chain system once he has mastered the balance bike. Less bikes to purchase!

Awesome balance bike, 14 inch is a perfect transitional size for kid ages from 4-7. My 4 yrs old son was on a 12in bike but as he has grown taller, we think it may be the time to upgrade his bike to a bit bigger. It turned out 16 inch to be too big for him so 14 inch is a perfect sized bike for the next three yrs.
I was also a little hesitated given what other reviewers' comments about parts they received not being brand new. It turned out not in my case as everything in the package was absolutely brand new. Very happy with this purchase.

Girl mom - 5 years ago, Verified purchaser
We ordered this bike for my 4 year old daughter. She is petite and figured we would get some years out of it. It arrived and the package was damaged with a spoke popping through the box. When opening it, paint from multiple areas of the bike was worn or chipped off. The few assembly parts were all over the inside of the box, not in any sort of bag. Assembly itself was easy. I’m disappointed in the packaging for this item. We paid a fair amount for the bike. I understand the bike will fall and get scratched, but to have a new bike that looks like it’s months to years old is frustrating.
