Description

The Strider 12 Classic is our basic model that comes equipped with our no-flat tires, which are ready to take the punishment that only mud puddles and heavy riding can dole out. The lightweight, steel frame was specifically constructed for child-level durability and has the lowest seat height in a balance bike, so even the tiniest of toddlers can ride comfortably. On top of all that, the mini grips are perfectly designed to fit little hands. The Strider 12 Classic is a great, unembellished choice that gives every kid the chance to experience the simple joy of a Genuine Strider Bike (at least until naptime).

Q: Does this bake have pedals ?

submitted by Roxana - 4 years ago
  • A: The 12 in Strider bikes are designed for the smallest riders with the shortest legs. The 12 in Striders fit kiddos from as soon as they can walk until they are ready for pedals. This amazing little bike will teach balance, coordination, steering skills and build core strength but it doesn't have the add on pedal option for that your rider will need a Strider 14x and an inseam over 16 inches. Thanks for your question please contact Strider if you have any other questions.

Q: What is the difference between the Strider Sport and the Strider Classic balance bike? There is a description for the Sport on the Target website, but not the Classic.

The Strider 12 Sport is the "Feature-Rich, Mid-Level Model offers every feature a child (or parent) could want with custom grips, padded saddle, handlebar pad, and quick release clamps (no-tool adjustment). It is the perfect balance of performance, options, and value. More than eight years of design evolution and manufacturing improvements all packaged into one model. And with a bonus second, taller seat post for the 3-5 year old child..

Here I am on Christmas Eve putting together a bike that is suppose to take 5 minutes. Of course I’m missing 2 very important pieces for the back tire. Extremely disappointed that my toddler will not have this Christmas morning.

Its low profile helps get kids on wheels faster and scale as they grow. It's also super light so easier to maneuver and push around as they gain confidence behind the bars.

We love the bike as does our son, however the back tire did not seem to want to go on straight and the front forks did not seem true. It's an expensive bike for a toddler would be nice to see a little better quality for the money.

Had to have a 2nd Strider for our girls

This is our second strider bike. The first was a gift for our oldest when she turned 2. Our second daughter assumed that strider when she turned 2 & our oldest got a pedal bike. Our second daughter just turned 4 & didn't want a pedal bike just yet so we got her a new strider & handed the original down to our 21-month old. After riding the strider for a few years, our oldest easily transitioned to a pedal bike without ever using training wheels. The strider is adjustable so they have been able to grow with our kids & then adjust right back to the beginning when the next is ready.

We bought a strider for our granddaughter. Our youngest raced the strider class at the age of 1.5 years old so we thought it was a no brainer. We are very happy with the bike. However, I ordered pink grips and the ones that came were for mini strider??? so obviously they don't fit. Otherwise very happy with the purchase.

I have three boys who have all used Strider bikes when they younger, two of them even raced BMX Strider track. Most importantly my special needs son loved it and was able to use it without being scared and loved the idea of being able to keep his feet on the ground to work both move and work on balance. I now run a foundation for special needs family and we recently purchased a strider for one of our events as a raffle prize. It was a HUGE hit and we're excited for the family that one to get to try it!

We have only used the bike inside so far but love it. Our kiddo loves getting on the bike, practicing riding on the rocker and pushing the bike around inside. It's a great size for our 18 month old. Can't wait to take it outside in the spring.
