Description
Sweet and delicious, Stumptown Homestead Blend is a crowd pleaser. Homestead Blend is comprised of some of our best seasonal single origin coffees. It is the lightest of our blend line-up and is roasted to brew a fine cup, whatever your brew method. This blend consists solely of Direct Trade relationship coffees, fully washed coffees from Central and South America and East Africa. Some of the producers who contribute to this blend have worked with Stumptown for well over a decade. Over the years, our strong partnerships and clear communication with these partners has allowed our Direct Trade producers to improve coffee quality, attain rewards based on incentives, and sustain a transparent supply chain. Nearly 20 years ago, Stumptown Coffee Roasters began roasting exemplary coffee. Headquartered in Portland, Oregon, Stumptown is committed to sourcing, roasting and serving some of the best coffee in the world. I look forward to this specific roast each morning! It is delicate yet complex and truly delightful. I recommend pour over if you have the capability to do so, this coffee really shines with this method of extraction.

I forgot how much I love Stumptown
I decided to circle back to Stumptown Coffee after loving it years ago. This one reminded me why I fell in love with Stumptown! It just has a unique taste that other “mainstream” coffee brands don’t have. It is obviously pricier but after I was reminded of the unique taste I think it is worth it. I also got Holler Mtn but didn’t like it as much - I still recommend trying though in case you prefer over this. Now that I found this blend I love it is going on rotation for when I take a break from my Nespresso machine. Our “normal” coffee machine was worth dusting off so we can have this type of coffee again. One tip: I do suggest checking the best by date.

Decent cup
This is not as fresh as your local roaster obviously it’s from target, but it’s a decent cup. I find myself reaching for this as my second or third cup of the day. It’s a nice semi-inexpensive option that I don’t feel guilty using. Honestly your local roasters probably sell maybe a few dollars more expensive than this item, but it’s definitely worth it if you’re into high quality coffee!! Back to this.. I taste the milk chocolate notes. It’s light with a medium espresso taste through the coffee (not super strong espresso flavor)

I've tried and enjoyed Holler Mountain and wanted to try another Stumptown offering. I grind my beans and use french press or pour over, mainly french press. Homestead is balanced and smooth. Flavors are mainly milk chocolate with hints of orange/lemon and floral notes. I extend the brew time for my press to 7-8 min. to bring out the flavors of a light roast like this. This helped I would not recommend 4 min. brew time for press; use pour over instead if you don't want a longer press brew time. The flavor was a bit weak. I used a 1:14 or 1:15 coffee/water ratio for my press and that gave me a stronger flavor, but nothing great. I thought Holler Mountain was better, had a more complex set of flavors. I might try Homestead again but then again maybe not.

Excellent light roast that takes very well to 30g/500g pour over ratio. Coffee has notes of nuts, chocolate, and caramel and a decent amount of caffeine. I preferred this over Hair Bender as my morning cup.

Pricey but definitely worth it! We only buy Stumptown! I would say this tastes like a lighter sort of medium roast. I really don't like darker roasts because they always make me think of cigarette ashes and really imo give coffee a bad reputation. Anyway, I've never tasted ashy Stumptown beans. They are always very fresh too; they only stay on the grocery shelves for a few months, unlike some that sit there for a year +.
