Sonny's Tip: Because this sunscreen is clear, it may be easy to miss some spots (and no one wants to burn). Make sure you (or your kiddo) apply this liberally and evenly onto skin. If applied to wet skin, just make sure to let sunscreen absorb completely (about 15 min) before heading back out into the water/sun.

A: I've used this formula since 6 months. It's easier to apply than the mineral and my baby's skin didn't do well with mineral sunscreen.

Bought this thinking it would be similar to the face mineral sunscreens (think supergoop unseen sunscreen) but definetly not. It leaves a chalky/gritty feel once applied, very uncomfortable. We got a little bumps on the skin after use. It was effective at sun protection though.

We’ve gone through two tubes of this and think it’s great. I’m very confused by the other reviews… that said, we’ve only used it on dry skin while already outdoors. Maybe it smells more strongly if applied indoors? Maybe it pills on the skin if your skin is wet? Can’t say, but we’ve had good results. No sunburns after being out on the boat for a couple of hours. No negative reactions on me or either of the kids. Goes on clear and smooth and stays clear and smooth for us!

It’s like rubbing a greasy banana vodka your skin. The alcohol is so strong it burns the nose. The grease is thick and goopy. It’s truly an awful formula.

I’m surprised Sun Bum would make a sunscreen like this. I bought this for my son for school and every morning he would say it burns his eyes so I tried it and it smells like rubbing alcohol mixed with bubblegum or banana. The smell isn’t horrible it’s just the first initial smell of alcohol burns your eyes & nose. Also it starts getting clumpy and starts peeling so I was sitting there trying to get it off & rushing since he was running late for school. I don’t want to waste it so I’m just going to use it for myself like on my arms and legs or something. Thankfully I got this on clearance for $7. If I paid the full amount I would’ve returned it

I usually love their products. It is the only sunblock I put on my kids and normally I use the regular 50 spf but figured I would try the kids one. BUT it smelled too much like alcohol. It glides on clear but it looked like gunk when it dried on my son's face.

Product smells like cheap bubblegum. Product off-gases while drying which causes eyes to feel a burning. Leaves a oily residue on hands even after rubbing in. We use lots of other variations of block from this brand and I'd give all those others 5/5 stars.

The absolute worst. Applied it about 6 times during a 3 hour beach day and my daughter ended up with sun blisters and a horrible sunburn. You think you are doing the right thing by constantly reapplying but with the wrong product it just doesn’t matter. In the garbage it went

This is the worst sunscreen I have used. My child complained about it stinging her face and body during the first application. We attempted to reapply before 80minutes had passed but her face was sunburnt already which told me the sunscreen didn’t provide enough protection. Also, as many other reviewers mentioned, we couldn’t get a second application on due to the pilling.. the fact that it is a clear sunscreen is completely useless if it doesn’t provide protection and it doesn’t go on the skin for second application. I will never buy this product again.

This sunscreen pills for us no matter what we do. Today I told them to try not to rub it during dry down. My daughter didn’t touch her face but still it pilled. Had to send my kids to school today looking like they had peeling skin. Never again, I’m tossing mine. :(

My children don't love the feeling of sunscreen on their skin and this sunscreen was very greasy and took a long time to soak in. If you have children like mine, just use the normal sun bum SPF 50 on your children and they will have just as much protection from the sun, but without all the fuss.

I thought this would make application on young kids easier and that was NOT the case. The feel of the gel is very sticky, and starts to pill on your skin after a bit of time. And the banana scent is way too strong, my kids hated it!!
