Smooth, tasty nut butter convenience
I have a G6PD deficiency so I try to stay away from peanuts entirely, but meat sources of protein have been somewhat problematic for my digestion since having gastric bypass, so nut butters are a great option for me on occasion. I’m pretty meh about almond butter so I used to get this lovely blend from Artisana called cashini with cashew and tahini butter, but since that was discontinued, I have been looking for a new nut butter friend. I love that these are in cups for convenience! I personally wish the cup was about half the size of what it is because it’s more than I want to eat as a snack (based on the size of my stomach, I eat toddler sized servings, and eating too much can cause stomach upset…), but that’s ok—I just put the open cup into a tiny snack-size ziploc and put in the fridge and that works okay. It has minimal ingredients—sunflower, salt, sugar and diglycerides to help with the texture. I do normally avoid added sugar if I were to get PB, but I’m assuming in this case it helps with the texture and also counteracts the slightly bitter taste of sunflower seeds compared to peanuts. The texture is nice and creamy without being super oily. It says “no stir” and that’s basically true (no major oil layer) although I do find that it’s even better with a quick stir. ;) It is delicious on these thin rice cakes, with apple slices, as a pretzel dip, etc. Next time I’m going to try their chocolate sunflower butter—although I don’t think I’ve seen that flavor in cups yet.

Portable and freak school option
We love the portability of these. My daughter brings slices of apples and one of these to school for snacks or we take them on our hiking trips.
