My friend recommended this to me. I’ve only used it once but I’m already a fan. I was in the car for a couple hours after applying this so I did leave it on for longer than I planned which ended up being fine. It was probably close to 4 hours which I didn’t intend to do but it served me well. My body looked super natural and tan not orange. I rinsed with minimal soap after those 4 hours and felt like I washed the entire tan off (then went to bed) and by the morning I was a perfect bronze. So trust me, I felt like I had to stick with medium tanners (so I wouldn’t look orange) /more expensive and that’s not the case. This is a great price point considering what else is out there and don’t let extra dark scare you. It’s perfect especially for the summer.

I wanted to like this self-tanner because it is on the affordable side. The biggest issue I had with this self-tanner was its stickiness. It was very uncomfortable to wear and layer because it was very sticky. Overall, this product gave a more glowy bronze than an actual tan. If you're looking for a long-lasting tan, I wouldn't recommend it.

Worst product ever
I purchased one and immediately noticed the dispenser was broken. It wouldn't come out at all. No problem, I returned it to the store I purchased it from and exchanged it for a new one. Then I get home with my new one and experience the exact same problem. The dispenser had 1-2 proper pumps of product before becoming completely clogged and unusable. I even tried putting it in a different foam self tanner bottle I had that was empty and still experienced the same thing. Obviously the liquid in the bottle doses not foam properly. Super disappointing and frustrating.

Honestly, it looked pretty light for an extra dark self tanner. It had very orangeish undertones and I looked interesting. It did last and it faded nicely. I had to leave it on for like 4 hours for it to work and I thought I would only have to wait an hour. It definently stains my underwear and clothes and hands. Their tanning mitt does not work though. I would recommend to someone with darker skin because I am very pale and this might not have been the best for me. It works but not my fav.

I used it and did a first coat for 2 hours and my partner saw a difference but I didn't feel like I did so I did another coat for 2 hours and i'm amazed and genuinely love the way it looks on my fair skin. I know i'll reapply after it is all faded but i'll leave it on for the full 4 hours and see my transformation after. However my hands are a bit darker and i'm not sure how to fix that issue

This is the BEST self tan. Perfect color, not orange, dries pretty fast. I leave it on until I shower the next day. I apply it to my face and it looks a million times better than way more expensive face drops I’ve tried.

If it doesn't work, wear it longer
Felt compelled to write a review in response to everyone saying it doesn't work: wear it overnight. I sleep in my tan and when I take my shower the next morning, none of the tan comes off. I do wish it worked as quickly as the bottle says, but other than that I LOVE it, the color is perfect.

Very orange.
I have been self tanning for multiple years, and I am a routine self tanner. I typically apply once or twice a week. This self tan makes you orange. I thought the tinted version meant that some of the orange Hughes would be cancelled out… nope. This product is just straight orange. There is little to no brown & definitely no purple/green undertones if that's what you're looking for. The tan itself smells kind of odd when it's developing, but it's really not noticeable and it goes away after you rinse.

I've tried many self tanners from lotions, drops, mousses, etc and this is by far the best. The consistency is amazing. It's super hydrating and feels nice on the skin. I typically put it on at night after I've shaved and exfoliated. I don't moisturize before because I swear you don't have to with this product. I leave it on for about 12 hours then wash it off, and it gives off an amazing colour that doesn't look unnatural and orange. The price point is also awesome for the quality! I recommend this tanner to all of my friends and I even bought the drops for my mom. 10/10 love it!

I have used many self tanners including high end and this one has to be my favorite. I like it best when used with a brush instead of a tanning mitt. My friend got a spray tan and this looked just as good if not better than the spray tan and the color is GORGEOUSS not orange or splotchy

Terrible! New formula? Or bad batch?? I've used this before and always loved it. I ordered 3 directly from the website now, all with the same batch/lot number, and ALL 3 are worthless. Barely any color while it's on, and even after leaving it for several hours, still nothing, it just washes off and I'm the same shade as in the areas I didn't apply it. Bought a bottle online from a third party seller with a different lot code number, and it worked great again. They either changed the formula or the batches are missing dye.
