I really wanted to like this primer, but as nice as is felt on my skin it sat underneath my makeup in the worst way. Made my base product application horribly patchy, emphasized my pores, & made it impossible to layer foundation without pulling it up. I tried using different amounts, different skincare products, and just about everything I could. Just doesn’t get along with my (dry, sensitive) skin, I guess!

I love the ELF power grip primer (the teal one), but I wanted to try this new one to compare. I tested it, one on one half of my face and the other primer on the other half. They both felt the same going on, but the original was more hydrating off the bat. I wore my normal everyday makeup. At the end of the day, the side with the original power grip held up better, unfortunately. This new one with niacinamide seemed more dry, emphasized dryness, and my makeup broke apart in places. I have normal skin, but I do have texture. I feel like the original power grip is more hydrating, smoothing, and wears better. I’m glad I tried it, I was curious about the difference.

I really enjoy this primer. I like the fact that it goes on somewhat sticky so that way the makeup settles onto my face in some cases it can be a little too much but if you use a good moisturizer and you keep your skin support, it is definitely going to be your best friend.

I want to start by saying I never used the regular power grip primer. But I saw this one was new and it contains niacinamide and wanted to try it. I’ve used it a few times now and it’s so comfortable. My foundation stays on all day and my pores are invisible. I was not expecting to love it

I have used this primer and several other elf primers for awhile now. They are my favorite thing. Once they go on the rest of your makeup applies so evenly and stays put all day. I’m not saying to go to the gym in makeup but this primer even holds through a couple hours of sweating at the gym
