Discover the art of pairing like a pro with Tasting Wine and Cheese, your essential guide to mastering flavor combinations.
Is there anything more satisfying than the perfect union of wine and cheese? Whether it's a bold cabernet with sharp aged cheddar or a crisp Sancerre with tangy chèvre, the right pairing can elevate every bite and sip.
Drawing from his popular classes at Formaggio Kitchen and the Boston Wine School, Maître d'Fromage Adam Centamore teaches you how to explore and refine your palate. Learn to taste wine and cheese separately--understanding the structure, acidity, and textures of reds, whites, sparkling, and dessert wines alongside the nuanced character of soft, hard, aged, and fresh cheeses.
Then, dive into the world of pairings. This comprehensive guide walks you through how to match wine and cheese by style, region, and intensity--with expert insights, tasting strategies, and recommended combinations. You'll even find guidance for pairing condiments, building tasting menus, and hosting unforgettable gatherings.
Whether you're a curious beginner or a dedicated epicure, Tasting Wine and Cheese offers everything you need to confidently explore one of life's most delicious pleasures.
Review Quotes
"Tasting Wine Cheese is expertly written, loaded with information presented in consumable bites and beautifully illustrated. Anyone fortunate enough to get this for as a holiday gift will pause from reading it only long enough to head to the store to buy several different cheeses." - Great Northwest Wine
"The heart - meat?- of the book is a series of profiles of specific wines, arranged by category: sparkling, white, red, and dessert wines. For each wine, suggestions are made as to what kind of cheese goes best. This primer ultimately inspires readers to create successful pairings on their own." - Brad Hooper, Booklist
