Q: Is this just for meat or can it be used for frying oil and candy making?
A: The connection point between the cord and the probe isn't water resistant so when submerged in liquid it will get into the sensors and create an HHH warning. Would not recommend it for this purpose.

Q: How does this work: Its 6"probe is attached to a 39"braided cord that threads into your oven without a need for the door to be open, allowing the stylish base unit to be stationed on your countertop.
