about this item

While instant read thermometers are fantastic tools, wouldn't it be easier if you never had to slow down the cooking process by constantly opening your oven door to check the temperature? The Taylor 1574-21 probe thermometer is a great looking solution to this age old problem. Its 6.25"probe is attached to a 39"braided cord that threads into your oven without a need for the door to be open, allowing the stylish base unit to be stationed on your countertop from where it can conveniently display exact internal temperature readings. Product Information. The thermometer's programming allows you to set your desired internal temperature; when this temperature is reached, the base unit will automatically sound to alert you. Its 99 minute, 59 second timer features a multi-tone alert, making it easy to differentiate between meat doneness and timer alerts. For maximum readability, the base unit can stand independently or be stuck to a magnetized surface. What's In The Box?Inside the box, you will find the Taylor 1574-21 thermometer and 1 AAA battery. This thermometer is backed by a 1 year limited warranty.

Garbage. I used it once and it worked fine. Tried to use it a second time and it won’t work. The temperature was stuck and then the screen got all jumbled. I changed the batteries but it still won’t work properly. Absolute garbage. For the price, I could have just bought a back up turkey in case I o...  see moreof Michelle's review

A bought recently and so far so good. I agree with the comments that it always starts as Celius, but a single click gets it to Farenheit. So far no complaints. It does what was expected.  see moreof Timo's review

Bought this a year ago to replace a similar Taylor thermometer. My last one was great, well used. I'm realizing I took it for granted. This thermometer works, but it's highly irritating. Everytime I use it, switch it to "on" it's default display is Celsius. So have to toggle to Fahrenheit. Every. Ti...  see moreof Jessbcuzisay's review

I bought this to replace a similar thermometer. I was excited to use it since the one I had was broken for a while. I popped it into my meatloaf and all it did was beep. The numbers it sent back ranged from 365-700. What junk!  see moreof JReynolds's review

Where do I start? Sloooowww updates - it takes about a minute to go from room temperature to 160. Super annoying alarm that cannot be turned off unless you shut the entire unit off or wait for 40 seconds, then when you turn it back on the temp resets to 120 - which the probe still thinks it is at ...  see moreof Screenname's review

Works fine, but don't use the magnet on the back. Used it on my electric roaster and it started to melt.  see moreof notatrace03's review

Didn't work right out of the packaging. Tried to get a replacement from Taylor but they had six different pieces of information they needed before they would consider that.  see moreof Rich805's review
