Temperature not accurate
This thermometer is well constructed but the temperature reading on the one I bought was not accurate. Boiling water at sea level should be 212 degrees fahrenheit and this thermometer read 206. Just a heads up that you may need to calibrate your thermometer!

Inaccurate
It is terribly inaccurate. Have had several cheap candy thermometers for making caramel. The others didn't last but were more accurate. This thermometer is a good 20 degrees off, which is huge is candy making

One small issue...
This thermometer performed flawlessly. We bought this to make homemade caramels. It is worthnoting that the thermomter has a temperature noted for "caramel", 340°, that is about 100° too hot for making that kind of candy. In fact, the correct temperature is listed on the back of the package.

Numbers came off immediately
Only used a couple times, and the bottom half of numbers and lines are completely gone. Obviously I only wash it by hand, but this is ridiculous. It’s useless to me without the actual temperatures.
